So far I have to put these(not permanent though):
- Donald Duck Goin' Quackers(gbc fun, and sometimes a little frustrating with the timing I will definitely finish it this go round)
- Crystalis GBC and NES(I do not recommend doing both nearly at the same time at all...I'm really starting to nitpick the gbc one)
- Adventures of Lolo NES(fun game just stuck on second level and third room? breezed though the first few then got stuck several times)
Permanent until I get a new one:
- Dragon Warrior NES(I may need to take a closer look at the cart and see if there's anything I can do to make it more bare able but the constant illogical tiles for certain areas and the fact it seems not to be making full contact it's definitely on here for now)
- LoZ: Link's Awakening GBC(got a defective cart from goodwill computer works so returning :-\)

Play the NES version of this one. I found the GBC port intolerable.darsparx wrote:Crystalis GBC and NES(I do not recommend doing both nearly at the same time at all...I'm really starting to nitpick the gbc one)
Stick with it (and consult a guide if necessary). It is one of the best NES games.darsparx wrote:- Adventures of Lolo NES(fun game just stuck on second level and third room? breezed though the first few then got stuck several times)
In contrast to Crystalis, the GBC port of DW is way better than the NES version, which is a bit too archaic for my tastes. The GBC port has a quick save feature, and it implements some design changes that improve the game immensely.darsparx wrote:- Dragon Warrior NES(I may need to take a closer look at the cart and see if there's anything I can do to make it more bare able but the constant illogical tiles for certain areas and the fact it seems not to be making full contact it's definitely on here for now)
I hope you get this one at some point. It is one of the best GBC and LoZ games.darsparx wrote:- LoZ: Link's Awakening GBC(got a defective cart from goodwill computer works so returning :-\)
Re: Games Not Beaten 2014
Well the gbc one isn't that bad for crystalis it's basically the same thing with some nintendo "enhancements". I definitely find the start/select menus to be a lot better organized but I like the health bar and some story bits from nes better. But I do love parts of the stuff in gbc and the fact of not having to purchase the alarm flute though.
AoL is definitely great I won't argue with you there, in fact it feels like zelda in some regards minus the fighting parts and more think before you move type deals and learn from the deaths as well.
But so far the DW if it weren't for the fact of the graphics and the way the cart works, it actually would be playable for me. I actually really enjoy it just wish they had put a decent save feature in it like with Crystalis. Crystalis's save feature is way beyond DW of that time....and I don't see why they didn't have it in DW...

Re: Games Not Beaten 2014
Had a several-hour "Master System marathon" last night and couldn't beat a single game.
Kung Fu kid jumps like he's on the moon and has some terribly choppy kicks.
On the other hand, good ol' Captain Silver can barely jump at all. There are far too many platforms in this platformer.
Transbot has a whopping two levels, yet the second one can only be unlocked by some convoluted method I haven't quite figured out.
Golvellius - entered a password incorrectly. Couldn't proceed.
Action Fighter is like Spy Hunter but worse.
Alex Kidd: High-Tech World... what were they smoking...
Altered Beast.... Dear God.... I'd rather play the C64 version with a one-button joystick.
Still had lots of fun though - maybe I'll get back to a few of these later in the year.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

^nah, that's Lost Stars, an okay-ish arcade port? high tech is a non-alex kidd adventure game (2 levels of basically point-and-click) but i loved it as a kid even though it's terrible and fuck praying 100 times for a pass

In a nutshell, cheap bosses created by asshole designers.

Stopped playing Machinarium ... found a game-ending bug, with the lamppost puzzle ... so infuriating. Unfortunately I hadn't saved ... so basically all progress in that game is lost.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.
Re: Games Not Beaten 2014
^Aw, that sucks. I enjoyed that game quite a bit. It's so charming.

It's not that bad. I still think it has some endearing qualities.BoneSnapDeez wrote: Altered Beast.... Dear God.... I'd rather play the C64 version with a one-button joystick.
