Guys, guys, you're missing the upside of this. Facebook-enabled Oculus means that all the Facebook addicts will get the Oculus, then slip into the virtual world and never come out. A year down the road we'll have a better world once all the Facebook people starve to death.

Well there is that....but then again you'd remember you're hungry and take it off and eat then go back to it possibly...

Lets just toss em in a human farm matrix style. Cleaning up the world and creating cheap energy at the same time lol.

I feel like current VR implementations and future iterations are going to be brick walled by the fact that they're sight and sound only. Without being able to stimulate touch and the kinematic senses you're always going to have that disconnect that messes with your brain. When we get the direct brain interface, that's the real exciting time.

Yeah there was talk about the Oculus Rift having a hard time acquiring the materials for production, them developing a second version and then sold within 5 days of negotiations during GDC. Definitely seems like they were wanting to jump ship.

I would jump ship for $2 billion regardless of whether I was having trouble getting materials.
