Any one version of Flashback better than another?
Topic title pretty much says it all. Since Flashback has been made for, oh, 10 systems total, does anyone know if one is better than the other?
Thanks for the insight.

I prefer the SNES version due to no load times and and best color palette when compared to the Genesis and Sega CD. But these are the only systems I played it for.

Well I suppose it's the DOS version, but really if you prefer the extras like the FMV and voice acting go with the Mega CD version, albeit it has less colours naturally (plus the aforementioned loading). Oh and you might find this interesting -> http://cyxdown.free.fr/reminiscence/ it enables you to play Flashback on a number of platforms, including DS and PSP!

Yep--I've played around with that on my DS. It's pretty awesome. I might pick it up for the PC and run it in dosbox or something.
On a side note, Delphine was awesome. I didn't realize they also developed Darkstone. Now I'm rediscovering it as well.
Edit--Wow, they also developed Shaq-fu. I thought the animation looked unusually smooth and Flashback-like. Perhaps that's why something inside of me has always been unable to hate Shaq-fu as much as the average gamer.

SegaCD cause you get the original and sequel
Older. Not wiser.

you're thinking of Heart of the Alien which is Out of This World 1 and 2, not flashback. The sega cd version of Flashback just has some different audio and FMV, no part 2 included.
by the by. I like the genesis one. don't know why, but the controls just feel better to me on the genesis compared the snes version. And the color palette fits just fine. the load times kill the sega cd version for me.

The closest thing to a sequel is Fade To Black, which I believe was only made for the PS1 and PC.

I too prefer the Genesis version. The cutscenes are much smoother than the SNES.
Please Note: I have it for SNES, Genesis, Sega CD an DOS

Flashback is one of my all-time favorites! I've probably played entirely through it over a dozen times. I have the Genesis and Sega CD versions. While the CD version gives you the larger cut scenes and more music, I still prefer the Genesis version because the music "fits" better and the cut scenes are quicker and fit in with the in-game animation much better.

It is the closest thing to a sequel because it IS a sequel. They never promoted it as such, but it is indeed a sequel. Not a bad game in its own right if you can get past the somewhat clunky controls.
