"Upgrade" to 3DS XL or not?

The scaling looks especially bad because the 3DS is higher res than the DS but not by a huge amount. Scaling on the Vita, for example, is much easier, because the PSP is 272p and the Vita is 544p. This way you don't get the ugly blurry stretch... which mainly looks bad in 2D games. 3D DS games still look alright. Text may be a little blurred but alright otherwise.

I prefer the original 3DS over the 3DS XL. I got the latter with a trade in of the original but I felt it was not worth it. The GBA games from the Ambassador Program look meh so I run those and the DSiWare games on its original resolution.

I feel the quality of the DS family is superior at any SKU over the 3DS family. The DSi XL felt tank-like from older systems.

I feel like the screen size of the DS Lite (3.0"), DSi (3.25"), and DSi XL (4.2") all with the same resolution (256 x 192) did not really hinder the view-ability of most games. Maybe due to the resolution being what it is.

Can't say the same for the jump from the 3DS to the XL. I see the difference.

Eh I love and much the XL systems to the regulaor ones. I guess it is all personal preference.

The poor image quality made me go from the XL to the 2DS.
