I had just gotten the NES for Christmas with the typical Mario/Duck Hunt cart. That was the only game I really knew of and the only one I wanted.
Later my uncle gave me Legend of Zelda. He absolutely raved about the game. I remember being enthralled by the gold cartridge and was shocked by the fact that there existed an adult who liked Nintendo. Popped the game in when I got home and was blown away. I didn't realize there existed games that weren't platformers or one-screen Atari/arcade style.
Same uncle got me Zelda II one year later. From what I recall he had a "huge" video game collection (something like 35 NES games, which was mind-blowing in the early 90s) and a Commodore 64 as well. No Master System though!
