to answer the original question; How's my Dreamcast gaming going?
Fucking awesome.
The monitor stand houses the speakers, console and VGA box. I'm pretty sure I'm going to replace the CRT with an LCD at some point. I just think it will look better as a piece of 'furniture' that way. The monitor stand needs a 2nd coat of paint, I need to actually secure the stand and control panel to the desk, and haven't decided if I'm going to find a way to secure the sticks to the CP yet - I might take the felt off the CP and paint it white as well. But damn. It's coming along really nicely I think.
That looks incredible, and fit for the first post of page 100! I think the LCD would be good in the long run and might give you some more room for a speaker setup. Your Father In-Law did awesome.
oh wow. that looks like fun. I might have to do something like that myself sometime.

@Noise. I REALLY like your set up here. I'd say keep the crt monitor. I really dig how the primary white overall and the grey on the crt match with the agetec sticks. Looks real slick!
... Game on friend. Just don't select that SA1 on Chun
@ Noise: Very nice, DIY Dreamcast cabs rock. The big white stand at the bottom looks kinda like a fridge. If it isn't a fridge, you should replace it with one to keep the Asahi cool!

It's actually an Ikea desk. I have seen folks build cabs on top of fridges before though.
