Dreamcast 4x VMU

Post by Mad_Hatter »

Just got my x4 official DC VMU. Nice knowing I probably won't have to buy another VMU.

Just a couple of questions for anyone who has one.

1) Does the DC prompt you to choose VMU Slot 1 or 2 for a new save file? Or will it automatically go to Slot 1?

2) I plan on using this x4 VMU in Slot 2. Can I use it to load existing saves from Slot 2 with no problems? Or will I have to copy those files from slot 2 to 1?

It depends on the game. Some only allow you to save in slot 1, unfortunately. Some do let you choose though.

I xferred a ton of my saves over to the 4x VMU I got today. I usually just leave my memory card in slot 1 for a precautionary measure.

Though i love my Dreamcast (dont own any system past the original Xbox) I wouldnt say im a collector by any stretch. However you be surprised what you can find on Craigslist. The DC (and Dreamcast scene in general) is more or less a cult following thing for the most part. Therefore most of the masses (especially the non gaming people) tend to devalue the system and its games. In other words sometimes you will find these games (sometimes in lots) for cheap. Oh and of course as always safety first if doing any of these type of meetings.

My thirft stores have nada. My local game shops are not retro. They just have a retro corner or something. I pretty much can't find anything post DC. And if I can, it is in terrible condition. I might try pawn shops now.

Here's what happened today.

Fought against a few terrorists today - shot down a harrier, rescued the President's daughter on a high speed chase down a highway, only to meet my demise in a forest all alone.

Then I did a few benihana's as Spiderman EDIT: Jamie Thomas, I don't have my old THPS2 save anymore!

jealous of that Spiderman.

I beat Frogger 2 today. Thinking about hopping on PSO after I eat lunch if you're gonna be around Blu?

EDIT: Change of plans - my father in law just called to say that some parts for my Dreamcab are done, so I'm gonna go pick those up. Might hop on PSO when I get back though.
