Wait I thought the xenoblade trilogy was xenoblade, the last story, followed by Pandora's tower. I thought that's how the story follows. Correct me please if im wrong but that's what every employee I talked to said at gamestop.CRTGAMER wrote:Both games DID NOT GET A SECOND PRODUCTION RUN AND ARE NOT REISSUES! Prices online reflect this somewhat.
Frankly, I'd be surprised if it's even uncommon at this point. The number of copies available on Ebay, and sold in the last week would lead me to believe that it's quite common. Prices on it probably aren't going to fall much more, though. It's gained too much notoriety. The average collector/reseller has been led to believe the game is ultra rare. I doubt anything will change that perception at this point.
I'm more inclined to believe that mas is thinking of the original metal case release of Metroid Prime Trilogy.
Gamestop just went nuts last year offering a more then usual amount on buyback, then sold it at almost double the price six months later after "refurbishing" them back at their Refurbish Center. Polishing the discs and swapping worn cases with new cases from their stock. Sadly, many a tin Metroid Trilogy case got tossed and possibly some decent Wii games were gutted of their cases for the Xeonoblade and Metroid Trilogy refurbish.
The above Ad poped up in my EMail last year.CRTGAMER on Sat Jul 20, 2013 wrote:The Bad Ugly
Its been known that Gamestop uses your purchases to keep a record of what you play when using the Power Rewards card. One of their tools is to offer you a Trade In Credit as in the case of the current 50% Extra. They sent me an EMail on two expensive games I had bought from them in the past, even with the bonus I think they are profiting too much!
XEONOBLADE CHRONICLES New $49.99 / Used $79.99 / Bonus 50% Trade In Credit $48.00
METROID TRILOGY Used $64.99 / Bonus 50% Trade In Credit $40.00
Both of these titles average over 100 bucks CIB used online!
Funny how a used copy of Xenoblade costs more then a new copy. Yeah, this game will keep going up in value. The crazy part on the figures above is that these are high on the Trade In Credit to Sale percentage ratio compared to most of their other Trade Ins! Normally on any games traded in, you'll be lucky to get more then a few bucks or even one dollar.
Thanks but No Thanks Gamestop. I plan on keeping my games till I die.
Proof with a picture of the Xeonobldae Trilogy set?mas wrote:No pierrot, I do mean xenoblade trilogy which is xenoblade, last story, and Pandora's tower. My store has them used and they have metroid prime trilogy. I want them all. I just dont know if its worth swallowing the 90+ dollars for 3 games and 50+ for metroid if I really don't care for RPG's or first person shooters but there so God damn beautiful and there the best games on the wii.
Too early to start talking about rare/valuable Wii games?

Operation Rainfall:
Xenoblade Chronicles
The Last Story
Pandora's Tower
Non-Operation Rainfall games:
Xenosaga 1, 2, and 3
Xenogears
There is no game called just "Xenoblade"

Gamestop on its own might not. But Xenoblade originally was only stocked by Nintendo and Gamestop. Next time you see a new looking copy at gamestop it will most likely say Nintendo on the case and not wii above the disc. And on top of that most of the ones that say nintendo will also have nintendo registration card on top. And if Nintendo didn't reprint another source is http://www.gamequestdirect.com/ .CRTGAMER wrote: Both games DID NOT GET A SECOND PRODUCTION RUN AND ARE NOT REISSUES! If I had to guess, I would say since they had a partnership with Nintendo already for this game Nintendo reprinted them and used the template that they use for WiiU cases.

You also have to ask yourself has Gamestop ever printed out new glossy covers for any of their games instead of those ugly generic ones?
If any one has a copy of Metriod Prime Trilogy from gamestop in a white case I would love to see an image of the inside to see if it says nintendo. Since a lot of you guys have been buying cheap Wii games at Gamestop I would also love to see if anyone has any other Wii cases that say Nintendo on the inside. Now I am not stating this as a fact but just to show it's a possibility.
Where's my chippy? There's my chippy.

Of course they didn't do any actual work, Gamestop paid Nintendo for the production run.CRTGAMER wrote: Both games DID NOT GET A SECOND PRODUCTION RUN AND ARE NOT REISSUES! Sorry for the shout, but this comes up once in a while, Gamestop does not have the means to create new pressed discs.

Metroid Trilogy is a new SKU with distinct UPC number from its original release.
Lum fan.
Re: Too early to start talking about rare/valuable Wii games
Do we have to go thru this again. I just wanted to know if there worth the 90+ dollars for the rainfall collection. Especially if I cant really afford it unless i save and stop buying games for a month or so. So that means I have to wait on dkc returns and smash bros and goldeneye and the Nintendo classics.
