Half Life 3 can have fingerless gloves and sweaters for all I care, just so long as I get it.

Didn't you know that hats are so yesterday, now everything is about socks! Don't believe me? Just play Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

Half-Life 3 has new sock customization and sock physics CONFIRMED
BMF is a hat baron and is trying to keep competition low ... don't believe him!
Clearly Stark wants to keep interest in monetized hat-based transactions for his own personal gain as some sort of digital insider trading. He is the Martha Stewart of hats!

Please. Once HL3 comes out it's going to all be about customizable crowbars.

There was a talk of, or maybe it was just wishful thinking, awhile back about valve buying dice. The pics of battlefield tanks with hats still gives me a chuckle.

I'm prepared to make a hat baron stump speech, look out. ;)

Increasingly the idea of going portable only is seeming more appealing. So few console games coming out lately that I want, and most of the ones I do are either Nintendo made, and I play them on the Wii U gamepad like a portable anyway, or are on PS3 and often have Vita ports.

I rarely play my home consoles in comparison to my portables. I have less time to play them, I'm less inclined to play them and I get tired of playing them more quickly. My average portable play session is anywhere from 2-4 hours, where as reaching 2 is quite a rarity when I play on a console. Since Christmas, I've basically only played my home consoles when I'm playing something multiplayer, apart from 2 quick blasts through some new Mega Drive games, both of which were less than an hour long each. The other exception is Wind Waker HD, which I played almost entirely on the Wii U gamepad, like a handheld.

The vast majority of the games I'm interested in buying, and the games that are coming out that I want are for portables. The exception is Smash Bros Wii U, which I bet Ill play on the gamepad.

On the other hand, there are a lot of awesome retro games I want to pick up for my collection on home consoles - I just wonder if I'll ever get around to playing them.

I'm in the same boat.

When it comes to modern games I generally prefer portable to console.

If we count the Wii U as "portable" then yeah - my 8th gen gaming is going to be portable-only. Not getting a PS4/Xbone and my PC is unfortunately going to be too weak to run most upcoming games. So that's Wii U/3DS/Vita for me.

I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be so much easier to "keep up" with only three systems (actually four if we count the Neo Geo X, amirite?!) vs. six.

Of course my retro gaming will be done on a mix of console/portable/PC. Mostly console.

Found out that someone put up the game Jones in the Fast Lane, a cheesy board-game-esque game by Sierra from the nineties that emulated life. The game uses flash and has the original voices and all the features, but now with a new and improved on-line mode.

You can play it Here!

This just makes my day. PC Gamer recently spotlighted it in their Crap Shoot, ripping the game to shreds, but to be honest, I loved this game as a kid. Even now, replaying it, it still is a blast to play and even more so when you have friends to play against. This just blows my mind, especially since I have attempted to get the game to run on a modern PC from my CD copy and have been unsuccessful, even when emulating windows. There is the DOS version I could download, but that lacks the high quality sound and voices!
