Since there isn't really an entry for this in the Guides section of the site, I thought it would be nice to at least have a thread related to it.
Now that the PSP is on its way out the door at major retailers, I've been trying to grab any decent CIB game I can find that looks interesting.
Some games are well known like Daxter, while other's slipped under the radar of most, especially those who are just now becoming interested in the PSP.
I thought i'd list the games i bought so far with a quick blurb to help others gauge interest in anything listed.
A lot of these were culled from other PSP lists and also MetalJesus's PSP Hidden Gem's videos.
The 3rd Birthday - haven't played yet, 3rd person shooter?, same storyline as Parasite Eve series
Ape Escape On the Loose - zany platformer where you catch bastard monkeys who slap their asses as you fail to catch them
Burnout Legends - great arcade racer with the Crash mode from Burnout3
Capcom Classics Reloaded - 194x series, Street fighter, Ghosts N Goblins (NES, Genesis and SNES versions) also has Knights of the Round and can be played coop over adhoc wifi!
Castlevania Dracula Chronicle X - 2.5d remake of Rondo of Blood on TurboGrafx16, Symphony of the Night is unlockable somehow
Def Jam : Fight for NY - handheld version of what i consider one of the better Wrestling-style games featuring rappers. TONS of fun
Dissidia Final Fantasy - fighting/RPG hybrid, haven't tried
Every Extra Extend - hard to describe shmup/music game made by the Lumines studio
Fat Princess - haven't tried, some sort of RTS type game where you feed princesses cake to make them harder to carry off
Final Fantasy Crisis Core - rpg, haven't tried yet
God of War - FANTASTIC portable version of the ps2 classic, all new story, so much fun, controls are very good despite 2 less buttons and one less analog stick
GripShift - odd arcade racer with some interesting controls, need to play it more (2.50 at gamestop)
Killzone Liberations - this one surprised me, really good 3rd person isometric shooter
LocoRoco 2 - goofy platformer, hard to describe
Lumines - to me it's the reason to buy a PSP, by far my favorite puzzler game, with a musical spin on it. the sequel is more pop music than i'd like but more of the same awesomeness
Mega Man Maverick Hunter X - 2.5D remake of MegaMan X , very good IMO
Power Stone Collection - both powerstone games (from dreamcast)
Ridge Racer, haven't tried, known as a solid arcade racer
Star Wars Battlefront 2 - haven't tried, heard good things
Star Wars Lethal Alliance - 3rd person shooter/platformer, good so far
Syphon Filter - awesome 3rd person shooter/stealth.
Ultimate GHosts N Goblins - 2.5D, not a remake or port, gameplay is different than the older games, still hard as balls
On the hunt for :
Dead Head Fred
Death Jr (owned it before, its meh, but cool characters)
Gitaroo Man (owned it before, its a crazy anime music game, same as the ps2 version)
Mega Man Powered up (cute anime remake of the original Mega Man)
Ys Seven - looks like an awesome action RPG
Star Ocean - First something something - PSone version didn't come out in the US, only the sequel
Socom Fireteam Bravo 1,2,3
Monster Hunter Unite

Don't forget those Legend of Heroes games! =D
Re: PSP - Must Own's and Hidden Gems
Aside from Capcom Classics Reloaded there is also Capcom Classics Remixed which has a pretty nice collection of games as well.
Re: PSP - Must Own's and Hidden Gems
I thought the Capcom Classics compilations used arcade versions?

OutRun 2006 Coast 2 Coast. The best racing game ever made on a portable, what's there to not to like?

Re: PSP - Must Own's and Hidden Gems
Thanks for posting that older thread. I searched back several pages but didn't see anything, but def some good ones in there.
Capcom Classics has a mix of arcade games and console ones.
If you're referring to the Ghost's & Goblins series it has (according to the manual):
Ghosts & Goblins (1985) - NES?
Ghoul's N Ghosts (1988) - arcade and genesis?
Super Ghoul's N Ghosts (1991) - SNES? felt like the snes one to me
And if you can't get enough of that series you can get the Ultimate Ghosts N Goblins which is entirely new for the PSP and hard as balls as i mentioned.
Outrun is definitely on my list.
Anyone played Gurumin? I watched the Metal Jesus review on it a few times and passed over it each time, but finally realized it looks pretty cool, and most gamestops near my don't seem to have it.
