Went down to Savers and Salvation Army today. Saver got me Sonic and Simpsons but after opening Hit and run it was NFL 06 :( All the games in in stapled bags so I couldn't have known. Salvation Army had the PS1 in a box that had just come in. Normally I pass on these but I noticed there was a CD booklet full of games and some were backups. Then I saw the Game Enhancer/Game Shark things and I picked the bundle up for $13 after the 50% family discount. I got the PS1 to run the real games with the loader thing plugged in the back but still can't figure out how to run the backups. :?

I found an Atomic Purple Game Boy Color at Goodwill for $9.99 with an official carrying case. :P

It was in the toy isle so I thought someone put toys inside of the case and when I opened it there was a great condition GBC inside and lots of game manuals for GBA in the back pocket which I thought were going to be games. :x

Simon - $5.00 Thrift Store
My sixth orphan including a larger Simon 2 and a couple of smaller portables. Too good a price to pass up on a solid 1977 unit. Oop, turned out not to be working until I took it apart. The Simon has vintage military issued batteries inside. From looks at the rust and corrosion been in there for a while. This old battle fatigued warrior got brought back to life with a relatively easy solder repair. Posted a Guide that might help in repairing any portable device that has corroded battery contacts inside.

IBM Keyboard - $7.99 Desert Industries Thrift Store
Where is Hobie!? I scored a boxed SEALED spare built like a tank IBM Keyboard! This even has the obsolete larger AT adapter. Makes my 3rd one, this keyboard is very very solid.
Wiki wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model_M_keyboard

The sturdy design (including heavy steel backplates and a strong plastic frame) of the keyboard allows even the most abused to survive for years. The various models of the keyboard had small differences, while keeping the style of the key mechanism that makes the boards unique.

The Buckling spring design gives the keyboard a unique feel and sound. Unlike the common (and cheaper) dome switch design, the Model M’s buckling spring design gives users obvious tactile (a distinctive resistance as the keys are depressed) and aural (a characteristic, loud "click-clack") feedback. Many users report that they can type faster and more accurately on the Model M than other keyboards.

PC Activision 2600 Classics - $2.00 Desert Industries Thrift Store
Desert Industries one of the better Thrift Stores, always find crisp clean stuff there. :D

PC Protostar / Inferno - $2.00 Desert Industries
Bought for obscurity, regulars know I love the music in the Inferno game. The music can also be played in a regular CD player; music by Alien Sex Fiend.

PC You Don't Know Jack 5th Dementia - $2.99 Thrift Store
Another to add to the growing list of Jack games playable with Buzz Controllers tied with a couple of utilty programs.

Harmon Kardon Soundtrack CD - $2.00 Desert Industries
The pack in for the Kardon speaker, I was expecting some really sonic test vibes. Baah, all are lighter Jazz tracks :?

Harmon Kardon M6531 Speakers - $5.00 Thrift Store
Picked up a second set. These are easy to mod to work as PC speakers or for a MP3 Player.

Karmon Hardon Speaker Guide - http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 13#p731713

PS1 Interact Barracuda "Cat Head" - $7.99 Electronics Clearance Store
Had to pick up another to supplement the two I already own. The store has these new shrink wrapped, but their stock is down to one layer on the shelf. So why buy this? BOTH Analog sticks has a mode to function as the Dpad. This is perfect for the older non analog tank control horror games.

USB Logitech Marble Mouse Trakball - $3.00 Desert Industries
Black USB Microsoft Mouse - $3.00 Desert Industries
White USB Microsoft Mouse - $2.00 Desert Industries

The cheaper white USB Mouse even included a PS/2 adapter. Another case of own too many impulse buy, I am getting way too many of these.

I'm a more partial to the GYUM keyboard since they're a little less noisy than a Model M, but that's a super awesome find, especially in a minty box like that. I would have hoovered that guy up too.

See you kind of people I envy...maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places but the past few years when I did go to goodwill and try to find games I never found anything worth having besides majesty(gold edition) a few years ago...(almost half tempted to check out Goodwill computer works and hope I don't get talked down the way I've heard about, and maybe one of the normal goodwills will have something too I hope :-\)

It's all about luck and timing. I almost totally missed it because I had been going through everything but the toy isle and I went to leave but there was someone blocking the isle so I went down the next isle which was full of toys and board games and there it was. The video games are always in the CD or electronics section. You just have to be persistent.

Good Will sucks horrbily in my area. Your talking 50+ on any game system functional or not :P. About the only deal that can be squeaked by is controllers most of which don't work :P.

There is one goodwill nearby that has had the same gameboy and N64 for a few months now. The gameboy is beat to hell and marked $90. The N64 is missing the power cable and is marked $50 :P.

Well I probably could find a power cord...I wouldn't mind having that n64 but I probably don't live anywhere near where you do...and that's just to have a personal n64 that's not my dads(though that's not saying much because I kind confiscated the nes even though it was just sitting in the garage collecting dust at the bottom of a box >_> and works amazingly though :D)

(and yes i'm one of those people that's adamant that they need to make a sequel to dk64....amazing game that should've had a sequel)

Maybe tomorrow i'll head up to my good will's in the area and see if they have anything I'm really starting to get antsy to check even though I probably won't find anything worth having...
