Indie Watch 2014

Post by Stark »

From other people than those who brought you Indie Watch 2011, Indie Watch 2012 and Indie Watch 2013 comes Indie Watch 2014! In this thread you will find info about upcoming indie games to be on the lookout for in 2014. I know this is a bit late in the year to be starting this thread so feel free to drop anything you already know about from the first 3 months here too!

The first game to be on the watch for is Echo of the Wilds. It is already out, but is on Steam Greenlight for those that want to go upvote it and have the option of a Steam key. Game has that pixel look that's popular these days and seems very mysterious. Hoping to get to it soon.

Neil Gaiman wrote the story and The Odd Gentleman made it a videogame. This is a game where you play a ghost trying to scare out a family from the mansion that has always been his home.

Cloud Chamber

This is a new kind of online FMV augmented reality game where you traverse a 3D network to explore found footage and documentary clips that hint at a possible government cover-up of alien communication. The game is played in an online messaging/comments system similar to Reddit with other players who are all positing different conspiracy theories to each other. The most up-voted postings get the most achievement badges, but ultimately the game is about collectively unraveling a mystery online.

Clearly inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog and probably Nights into Dreams as well. Check the video and see the blast processing gameplay in action. Or, better yet, try the demo.
