It's not super great, but I'm determined to beat it and stuck near the end. Anyone beat it and can give me some pointers? Apparently I'm an old man and can't beat vidja games anymore.
I'm at the Trials of Archimedes and you have to fight a crap ton of gorgons and the lightening-based witches. I've gotten through that wave barely once, only to be clobbered by the second wave.
I beat this finally, I'm told by a friend that they actually made this easier with a patch which made me go:

Really? GoW are not hard most of the time... except for the 2nd phase on the battle against ares on GoW 1
where you fight against yourself.

I think i'm towards the end of Strider 3, then finish up Albert Odyssey...not sure what's on deck after that, hoping a buddy is done with South Park: Stick of Truth around then.
Picked it up the other day, waiting to get the time to play it. Really enjoyed the previous GOW games.
I'd temper your expectations a bit. Some of the awesome set pieces that God of War is known for are there, but the camera and levels that are limited in scope can get really frustrating at times. Also there is very little exposition in this game, I think I was well over half way into the game before Kratos said much more than a guttural cry. So this leads often to not knowing why you're doing something or what your goals are. I'm not expecting an amazing story or anything, but I'd least like the narrative to tell me what's going down.

Agreed, this was different for sure. Have you played Ascension yet?
Yeah...I beat it pre-patch and agree that it was much tougher than the rest of the game. It was a nice surprise after the cakewalk of everything else, though. I hate when patches/updates nerf difficulty, though. I have a similar complaint about the changes in the default difficulty changes between DMC3 and DMC3:SE as well...

I don't have a problem with that sort of difficulty in a game like this, it makes you really use the abilities you have at your disposal and actually have some skill. What I did have a problem with is the suddenness of this challenge. I think I died maybe once or twice before this section? So there seemed like very little ramp-up in this difficulty and then BOOM this section and I died like 4 or 5 times before I got it.
