RPG Progress Report
Re: RPG Progress Report
Did you ever play 2? Star Wars doesn't get much darker and weirder than that one, absolutely loved it. First game was Bioware and Obsidian did the sequel, so yeah the writing is incredible.
Re: RPG Progress Report
I haven't tried the second game yet. I'm probably going to grab it the next time it goes on sale on Steam. I've been putting that off for a while now. XD
Re: RPG Progress Report
Oh yeah, Beelzebub is definitely the hardest non-DLC boss in the game.MrNash wrote:Finally finished up SMT IV, got the neutral ending, and I really liked it. Fighting Beelzebub on one of the side quests was a bit of a pain in the butt and I actually found it tougher than either Merkabah or Lucifer. On the whole, a great RPG. Definitely recommend it.
Next game on my plate is KotOR. Played it a bit before but never finished the game. It's time to do something about that. =)
For KOTOR, that's definitely a well done game. The sequel has the stronger story but it's full of Obsidian's trademark bugs. You probably want the PC version of KOTOR2 so you can get some of the post-release fixes that the community has developed.

So I went back to FFV Advance briefly last night, and I've got one thing to say -
Damn you Archeoaevis!
(no, I don't have a Blue Mage, which apparently makes this fight drag out.)

Re: RPG Progress Report
Finished Lightning Returns and South Park Stick of Truth. Playing Persona 4 Golden again, I've played this on and off again but this time I think I'll stick with it. I finally gotten past the cutscene after cutscene part of the game, and now that the game is FINALLY letting me actually PLAY it, I'm finding the gameplay to be quite fun. The combat system is marvelous
Hopefully, the game will keep me interested long enough to finish as I've never managed to maintain enough interest in other Shin MegaTen games to finish them (Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga). Persona 4 somehow seems more fun than those games though, and less aggravatingly difficulty (a huge turn off for me with Nocturne). I just can't get into any game that hates my guts and wants me to suffer
Hence me not giving a shit about Dark Souls 2 coming out this month

P4G should do a much better job of keeping you interested than Nocturne. I feel like Nocturne's story was in an awkward place between the "discover hints as you go" of old school WRPGs and the story-heavy JRPG style, so you had long stretches of evil dungeon between story points, and it was easy to forget what was going on beyond a "must get to the next area because of reasons". The combat is definitely more fair than Nocturne, but still watch out for your weaknesses; enemies will still abuse that when they can and totally wipe you out.

Re: RPG Progress Report
A few quick job and ability changes, and Archeoaevis went down with no trouble (so quickly in fact, that he couldn't even do his multiple forms on us!)
Bad part now?

Playing KOTOR now and just freed Bastila. I still don't like her. Such a bad attitude. I'm just going to leave her in the hideout and have Mission and Zalbaar help out whenever possible. They're good partners to have. Zalbaar is going melee, and I'm making him a meat tank, while Mission will focus on rifles, disarming bombs, and picking locks. My character is a scoundrel too, but he's going to be a dual pistol wielder. They make a good team so far, and the banter between Zalbaar and Mission is good. Certainly better than listening to Bastila prattle on. >_<

Hahaha, Batilla is one of my old time favorite gaming women. She's a key part of the story, so you're gonna have to deal with her whether you like it or not. I don't know how well your party will hold up when you start facing badass jedis without Bastilla in your crew. Jedis were pretty OP in that game as I recall. If not her, at least get someone who is a jedi in your partyMrNash wrote:Playing KOTOR now and just freed Bastila. I still don't like her. Such a bad attitude. I do like Mission and Zalbaar, but Bastilla is far and away a more useful team member. You can sass her anyway if she gets too annoying.MrNash wrote:Playing KOTOR now and just freed Bastila.
