How about this, all info on dot crawl and static imagery in games should be discussed here. If we can cram in all the "Who the hell cares" topics into one, this would be it. Next topic:

What I find funny about that guy's crying about dot crawl in Sega Saturn and PSX is that Dot Crawl is something that plagues anything that utilizes composite signalling.
Dot Crawl isn't a graphical defect. Dot crawl is when the luminance and chrominance cross talk when being transmitted from the source to the receiver (i.e. in radio waves, cables, cords), This causes the colour information smudge left and right out of it's designated place.
Dot crawl was a defect commonly utilized in older games to simulate transparency. This may be why 'mega' says the PSX and Saturn suck because of their dot crawl because they used 'tricks' to fake transparencies and shadowing.

That is dot crawl, and happens on most TV sets. I notice it most often on digital cable/satellite receiver menu guides.
Guess what, the lower the resolution, or the poorer the quality cables and the lower end TVs will always be plagued by dot crawl.
Go here to Gamespot and you'll see a comparison of video cables for the XBOX 360. Note the numerals in every image (fonts are the best place to recognize dot crawl due to their straight single colour edges), as the cable gets better the smoother the edges of the numerals are! Hrmmm.... and I thought they solved that pesky Dot Crawl problem after the PSX and Saturn?
