 Websites telling me how much to tip the pizza delivery guy. "$3.00 is the bare minimum", "20% of the total", and the repercussions of not tipping properly.

One more reason I may order pizza once a year, and that's only because I have friends over who want it*. I know a lot of people who love almost any type of pizza, even Little Caesars and frozen pizzas. Whatever suits your palette. But the chain store pizzas do nothing for me, and are incredibly, no! Ridiculously overpriced and underwhelming.

My parents live in a town that has a great local pizzeria, but the only local pizzeria we have is NY style, and tastes okay when piping hot and like cardboard the next day.

And here is my beef:

The last pizza I ordered was a Manager's Special, which was a one topping medium for $9.99. How much do you think the actual total was after tax, delivery fees, and tip? Guess first.
If you guess between $16-$17 bucks, you're right.
Tax, fees (yes fees, not fee), and tip shouldn't cost that much, another reason I don't order pizza.

And some people (the delivery guy) stand by $3.00 is the bare minimum. Other people (the delivery guy again) say %20 (which is more than most people tip their waiter) is the bare minimum.

Nuts to that. Get to my house on time with a hot pizza, that is also the pizza I ordered, and I will tip you well. And I don't care about the total, or amount of pizzas I want delivered. 1) The more I order, the more I'm helping out the company. 2) You're coming to my house anyway. If I order one or three pizzas the deliverer still has the same job: Get me my pizza. Of course, if I ordered a McAllister amount of pizzas I'd leave a bigger tip.

So there. Forget these websites that tell you what to tip the driver. If the pizza is cold, late, or not what you ordered, no tip and tell 'em why.

*This is a tactic I use when someone wants to drive after having too much. After a few slices they're usually passed out on the couch.
Hmmm now i want to know the chain you were ordered from.

Sorry to hear about your Grandfather Fragems. Alzheimer's sucks a big one.

Smile: Woke up at 7am, went outside and finished all the yard work by 9am. Now I can relax the rest of the day and enjoy the ACC tournamnet.

Frown: PITT will probably win it all.

We ended up working today and the general contractor for the house I am currently building showed up in the afternoon with a few 12-packs of beers for us. I ended up bringing home a 12-pack of Coors Light. I'm not going to say no to free beer even though I rarely drink anymore.

Even better when I got home my wife showed me a beer maid outfit she apparently ordered online that came in today. Maybe I should see if she'll serve me some Coors Lights.

Smile: After yard work and beating Batman on the NES, had friends drop by for a day full of ACC basketball. 'Bout to put on my pj's, play (and hopefully beat in one sitting) Actraiser, then head to bed, read a book and call it a night.

edit* Well, TAKEN is on television; so much for my plans.

Even when edited for television, TAKEN is still something incredible.

:P : Another day of Estate fun. Sold and loaded another Piano(with old internal heater :P), Two China Cabinets, One large oak dinning table with benches, and a ton of smalls :P. We've managed to almost clear out the house and are nearing the point that we just start donating the remaining items :).

:) : Found another 7 or so Naval training manuals from the 60s-70s while reorganizing the books in the garage.

Think this one had the nicest cover of the manuals I have picked up so far :)

:D : Guy who bought the house offered to clean up whatever items we left behind so we won't have to worry about renting a dumpster again. They are demolishing the house to expand their apartment complex so we don't have to worry about cleaning up to much.

 : Sounds like my dad is trying to trade or sell my Jeep :P. I told him no but I wouldn't put it past him to take it to work one day and come back with another vehicle which "I" wanted :P.

Smile: ACC Championship today, and it's also Saint Patrick's Day Eve. I'm only getting started with the decorations, and just hoisted Ireland's flag on the flag pole outside.

Can not wait for tomorrow.

Happy St. Patrick's Day Eve!

Not starting a debate but...
I'm curious if you hoisted a Mexico Flag outside of your house on Cinco de Mayo, if you'd get a public outcry. But, an Ireland flag is totally okay for St. Patrick's Day, because you know, it's Ireland.

I wouldn't expect a letter from the HOA, or even a bat of the eye from my neighbors if I flew a Mexican flag on Cinco De Mayo. Maybe a confused look, but no outcry.
