Just when I was giving up hope of ever finding another deal around my area, I spot a little box of sunshine at my local Salvation Army. It was marked at $30 for the lot. Here is what was inside:

NES Console/3 Controllers/Cables
Game Genie
Mario/Duckhunt x2
Mario 2
Mario3
Pinball
Trog
Cobra Triangle
Adventures of Link
Dr. Mario
Tetris
Bayou Billy
California Games
Dragon Warrior
Dragon Warrior 2
Xenophobe
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure
M.C Kids

So yeah, I'm pretty stoked. These are the days that keep me collecting. :D

Pristine BookOff Finds
Said it many times before, I LOVE BOOKOFF! So many used CIB games to discover!

Its easier on the typing to just copy and paste " - $5.00 BookOff"

PS2 Legacy Kain - $5.00 BookOff
Been planning to get this for a while, been undecided between the Xbox and PS2 version.

PS2 Minna Daisuki Katamari Damacy - $5.00 BookOff
Ooh yeah the import version of a great Twin Stick game. Not sure if the Japanese version has unique levels or prizes, but at five bucks well worth it! Only the PAL and Japanese We Love Katamari releases has the unlock of all the clips strung together as a mini movie.

My review of the KATAMARI Series:

PS2 Shadowman - $5.00 BookOff
Exclusive to PS2 console release, had to get it.

PS2 Sims 2 - $5.00 BookOff
Oh why not, already have Urbs and Sims 1

PS2 Block Kuzushi Hyper - $3.00 BookOff
I bought the PS1 Block Kuzushi version some time ago, this adds a "3D" dimension to the Atari Breakout game.

Xbox America Army Special Edition - $5.00 BookOff
Nice to find the Special Edition with bonus disc! Another FPS, seems Xbox has a ton of them compared to third person shooters on the PS2.

Xbox Fable The Lost Chapters - $8.00 BookOff
Extra stuff compared to the initial release.

Xbox Quantum Redshift - $5.00 BookOff
Xbox Wipeout clone exclusive that almost did not get released.

PS2 NTSCJ Bio Hazard 4 with BGM CD - $7.00 BookOff
Not sure if anything different in the game itself, but as in Katamari, an easy snap decision to purchase. Note the brown logo in the picture on the game case, comes with an additional soundtrack disc inside! :D

Xbox Resident Evil 4 - $5.00 Thrift Store
I already have the PS2, Gamecube and Wii versions, somebody please stop me.

Xbox 360 Silent Hill 1 and 2 HD - $10.00 $5.00 Big Lots
This store had five copies! Most Big Lots are a hit or miss, found other deals at various locations.

DVD One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest 35th Anniversary Collectors Edition - $7.99 New Shipped Ebay
One of Uncle Jack's better movies. Unbelievable what all is include in this DVD collection.
http://www.dvdizzy.com/oneflewoverthecuckoosnest.html

1.78:1 Anamorphic Widescreen
Dolby Digital 5.1 (English), Dolby Mono 1.0 (French)
Subtitles: English for Hearing Impaired, Spanish, French
Closed Captioned; Extras Not Captioned
Video Extras Subtitled in English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, Thai
Two single-sided, dual-layered discs (DVD-9s)
Triple-Width Thick Cardboard Box with Digipak, Poster and Press Book
Reproductions, Hardcover Book, Envelope of Cast Photos, and Playing Cards

Image
DVD Shadow Of The Moon - New $9.99 Shipped Ebay
DVD Moon Machines - $8.61 Shipped Ebay

Both very well done documentaries of the NASA program, the video put together by the same production team. The Special Features of Shadow Moon are great, the astronauts are candid on the back story whats and whys that most of the public are did not know about. Moon Machines takes an engineers point of view, showing all the obstacles to make things work and still keep the weight down.

DVD Streets Of Fire - $5.00 BookOff
Another BookOff find, the widescreen version. There was also the Japanese cut which is reputated as a better pressing, but in the version on the shelf was Pan Scan. Very cool 80s flick with loud rock music by Fire Inc. Would really like to hear more songs by the group, I think their music is only in this movie and the killer CD soundtrack.

Microsoft USB Sensor Mouse - $2.00 Thrift Store
One piece of hardware Microsoft has built well over the years are quick responsive mice. I used a MS Ball Mouse sensor wheel (without the dust trapping ball) for a Spinner Mod due to the quick acurate movement rate compared to other mice.

GBA Zoo Cube - $2.99 PlaynTrade
GBA Donald Duck: Going Quackers - $2.99 PlaynTrade
GBA Made in Wario Japanese Version - $5.00 BookOff

Bought the duck since the same title name reminded me of the Dreamcast version. Zoo Cube feels like a variance of Tetris and Zoop. Still exploring thru the Warioware Inc for chance of spotting exclusive to Japan version mini games.

PC USB Gravis Eliminator - $1.89 Thrift Store
I had already bought one of these a few years back, a very nice Gamepad that has analog controls built right in the "Dpad". Ten action buttons works out well for the PC version of Rockstar's Wild Metal Country. I like the Dreamcast exclusive to console, but the PC version does have higher resolution, and this pad brings in a nice game console feel. :D

Great movie. Better book, but still a great movie.

I got this for a STEAL yesterday. It gets delivered Monday. It's a Japanese Sega Saturn bundle. What I don't get is why I can't find that color scheme anywhere?

Someone has "modded" it and put a US (As the PAL consoles have grey buttons) consoles buttons on the consoles.

Unless I am very mistaken all white JPN consoles have the red buttons, even the skeleton model which has black buttons, still has a red eject button.

That's what I was thinking too. I just asked him to explain the appearance so I'll post it just to clarify when I get the answer. I think it looks great. :P
It's just a white Japanese Saturn but with the black buttons and cart door from a US Saturn.

Did some more running around :P

Stop #1 Pullman Square Gamestop

Saw some harder to find games for cheap as well as Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll(PS3) which I meant to pick up the other day. Since I was going to be in town running some errands I went ahead and reserved the three games and found a few more when I went to pick them up.

Image

Picked up these guys to recoup a little cash and cover gas. Both go for around $30 each online.

Image

Also noticed last time I was out at Ashland that the gamestops were getting rid of their Collector's Editions of Killer is Dead thought they were $29.99 the other day but that may have been an old sticker. Nabbed a "new" copy for $$20 that was in over all pretty good shape.

Image

Image

Little peeling and goo be gone later and they are good as new :).

Image

Stop #2-3 Hit both Tristate Pawn and Jewelry locations in Huntington, WV.

Got these for $6 each at the first store Mario Galaxy was missing the manual and New Super Mario Bros was missing manual+inserts. Guys there kill me :P they always ask me what prices I usually pay since I'm in there so often and I am always really honest about it :P. So I told him the regular going rate which is $8(more then a fair price for these games) he then dropped the price to $6 a piece saying he knew I would be back next week :P. Best pawnshop chain ever.
Image

At there second store I picked these up at the standard flat rate of $3 a piece. Plus they are raffling off a Xbox One tomorrow so I threw my name in :). They also had a Wii U pretty cheap but one of the clerks gave me a heads up that some ass hat had stolen the Wii U Tablet Controller out of it the day before :X people are such dicks.

@vatermusik: Thats a nice haul for an NES lot.

I also got something from Salvation Army today.

Image

It cost me $5.00 for everything. It was all in a dirty little cardboard box, but I left that there for salvation army to throw away.

The carts and cases are pretty beat up for Out Run and Afterburner. That poor game is the most dirty of them. The back of Afterburner has been sitting in oil/grease for a few years and the cart label is really faded

But the rest are a little better.

I hope the system works. I wonder if there's a game built in?

What's the deal with Salvation Army? We have a few here but they seem to be churches and homeless shelters?

Salvation Army *USUALLY* has donation centers, where people can donate not only things to directly help the homeless like blankets and clothes and food and whatever, but basically whatever they want. They will then resell the stuff that doesn't go directly to the homeless. Can be a good place to score cheap furniture if you're not overly picky -- found some good stuff there for my first apartment. Can be a great place for vintage and/or cheap clothes if you're a standard size (I'm a little too big, both height and waist-wise, for much to fit). And apparently can be a great place for video games -- I wouldn't know, all the ones around my area are picked clean. I come to this thread, see all you lucky so-and-so's finding great deals at all sorts of thrift stores, then I go and hit every thrift store in the county and what do I find? A half dozen copies of Madden 03 and a V-Tech game. Not even the system, just 1 game. *grumble grumble*
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread
