Does anyone else here have this problem? I feel like I am probably in the minority here. But I am having a hard time meeting people who are into gaming like I am that I can hang out with. Anyone have any advice?
Lack of gaming friends?
Lack of gaming friends?
This is a little difficult for me to openly admit, but I don't really have any gaming buddies. Aside from some recent Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate games at lunch with some coworkers I am almost 100% a solo gamer. Now, I do primarily like to play single player games, but I do wish that I had some gamer buddies, especially to play some retro multi player games with. I do tend to keep to myself a lot but it would be nice to have some gaming days with buds like I used to when I was younger every now and then.

Your not alone, the only gaming buds i have only play mainstream stuff and arent into the niche stuff like JRPG's.
I can however take my Wii over to a friends and we do some 4 player Mario Kart/Mario Party. Guess i should be lucky i get that.
I suggested having a gaming night once a week, but probably wont ever happen (i blame girlfriends who dont game and are too clingy...)
But generally dont have anyone to talk to about my single player campaigns, few co-workers but dont hang out with them outside of work.

Re: Lack of gaming friends?
I've moved so many times that I don't have any real old friends
and every time I meet new ones it seems like they just want to use me
. Have had so many cases of friends borrowing games/hardware and either never returning it or totally trashing it that I just stick to online companions when it comes to gaming. Actually rent out a vent server and have 4 close friends that I used to play with pretty much on a nightly basis but I haven't been on there in a while
.

You can game if you want to, you can leave your friends behind. Cause your friends don't game and if they don't game then they're no friends of mine.

I consider myself to be really lucky. I have *one* "retro gaming" friend who I can call up at pretty much any hour and have him come play Saturn Bomberman with me (or anything else). We grew up together, we go on retro gaming hunts together, we burn our paychecks and piss off our girlfriends together - I couldn't ask for more. Sometimes it'd be cool to have 4 people for Mario Party and the like, and even then our girlfriends are usually pretty open to joining us (even if they'll only play for 10 or 15 minutes).

I just turned my gf into my gaming friend. Problem solved.
Except now she steals the tv

I only have my girlfriend nowadays, but she only plays Animal Crossing religiously.
We go on hunts together and I've taught her what the good stuff is and she finds things that surprise me all the time. She doesn't actually play games with me though but doesn't complain about it either.
The friends I had from childhood moved on from video games long ago, but that's okay because I only play single-player games.

Re: Lack of gaming friends?
Locally I have a couple people who will game with me, apart from my wife. But I meet up with college friends digitally every week and in person, well we try for quarterly, but it seems to be every 6 months or so.
Re: Lack of gaming friends?
I'd say I have eight friends who come over regularly to play games, but I also have friends that visit once in a while, and we always up playing a game or two.
I haven't played a game on-line in years, that is besides Mario Kart.

I have a friend who comes over to play games every other month or so. We don't live a huge distance apart, but enough that the trip isn't one you'd want to make all the time.
I have some local friends who are generally up for a game of Smash, Mario Kart or Halo, but perhaps not so much more retro or obscure stuff.
