And here are a couple more items I found on the disc while poking around. The only changes I made was to convert the original .bmp files to .jpg files.

Man, those pictures bring back so many memories...

Unfortunately my PS2 just broke down. Damn, I was so pumped to finally try NiGHTS with better graphics...

While NiGHTS uses a dynamic music engine that responds to the Nightopians, I think Christmas NiGHTS uses regular, non-dynamic tracks. It's a shame, too. I'd like to have heard some of their variations on their Christmas themes.

Well, tonight I ripped a fair amount of music off my Christmas Nights disc. I also ripped a lot of music off Mr. Bones discs and I'd swear I had tried that before and couldn't find ripable files there. Anyway, it looks like I'll have a lot more music to add to my PSP.

While ripping from Mr. Bones, I was disappointed to find that one song I really wanted isn't available. There is a song that plays during the end credits, it's quite long and really great guitar work but for some reason it of all in-game songs wasn't available. Weird.

How I wish I had enough time to do more stuff that I want to do...
I played this one last year, but I only finished, I didn't have time to get really into it (same goes for Virtua Cop 1 & 2). I saw these in the Together Retro stuff and I thought I was going to give them another shot, but I've been lagging as far back as Solar Jetman (which I'm got to level 3 or so and haven't played since, but wanted to make more progress on).

Man, I was playing on Elliot's 4th level and ran out of time near the end (while riding all those roller coaster type things) and then couldn't find my way back to the goal. The arrow pointing where to go kept changing all the time.
Anybody else run into this kind of problem?

I don't think you're supposed to run out of time :P

When you "run out of time" you turn back into Elliot and you have to make your way back on foot.

Christmas time and time to pull out Nights. Just finished some time with the PS2 remake, next the Japanese version of Christmas Nights.

After playing around a bit I've been able to almost double most of my high scores. My new strategy is to pillage the level on foot before dualing up with Nights. If you run between the yellow bouncers the alarm clock usually can't keep up. Some levels work a lot better than others. I try and stretch out the scoring as much as possible.

Riding the roller coaster on foot in Stick Canyon was completely awesome and this is the most fun level. Climbing the spinning elevator up is completely awesome. I can actually see far enough in the PS2 upgrade to get somewhere. However ther camera is really crappy forcing me to self correct constantly in hairy situations. Just take it slow and don't fall off.

The Frozen Bell level was kind of hard and less rewarding. Other levels seemed less fun even though the points did pile up. Unlike Stick Canyon which was really fun ono foot and rewarding.

The PS2 version automatically launches into the Christmas Nights start screen due to system clock. Still no presents :) One last thing Saturn exclusive.

Ah, Christmas time, and Nights as the Together Retro title. This is perfect because I have a yearly tradition of playing Christmas Nights on Christmas Eve every year. The first year I did this, I unlocked all of the presents, but my Saturn battery died somewhere along the line, and I lost them. In the past year, I purchased the Playstation 2 remake for around $40 on Play-Asia, so I will probably play that version this week. As was previously mentioned, that version lets you see further, and it makes it a little easier to see what you are doing.

I had two bits of information I wanted to share with everyone, based on two previous posts. The first is how Christmas Nights (USA Version) was attainable way back when. Yes, I do believe there was a Blockbuster promotion, but there was also an issue of Next Generation gaming magazine that came with it at news stands. That's how I got my copy (and before I even owned a Saturn too).

To the poster who mentioned they'd like to have portable Nights, there is one way to do that, but it might be a little tricky to access, as I do not remember all the details in doing so. You may recall that some Gamecube games, when used with the GBA-GCN link cable had games you could temporarily download to your GBA and play so long as you didn't turn the unit off. If you have Phantasy Star Online Episodes I & II Plus (Second release of the title) there was a quest in the game that ended with your character reaching a download station. You could download "Nights Time Attack" to your GBA. It was basically a Nights flight segment with rings and orbs and a timer. Pretty simplistic, but it was fun for about 15-20 minutes of your time. I don't know that it is worth all the hassle unless you already have the game, cable and a GBA lying around, but if you do, you might give it a run.

Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying this game, and I look forward to reading more responses about your experiences!
