Which Wii U bundle to buy?

Post by TheSegaSaturnGuy »

So I am going to buy my Wii U after work today but Ai wanted to get some opinions first. I am between the Windwaker Bundle and the Skylanders Bundle. Here's the thing, I can buy a 2TB hard drive that it approved by Nintendo to work with Wii U for $70. The Skylanders bundle is $254 and comes with Nintendo Land and Skylanders, I would more than likely trade Skylanders in to get Pacman World. The Zelda Bundle is $305 and come with a Digital copy of Wind Waker and Hyrule Historia. The Skylanders system is 8gb and the Zelda system is 32gb. Which do you guys think I should buy?? THANKS!
I am buying all Saturn games, PM me with your offerings and I will let you know if I need the game or not! (Everything must be CIB)

Currently trying to knock off all the sports games, would like to get them <$5 each! Of course if you would like to donate them I will gladly pay the shipping! :)

Just so you know, the harddrive has to be a dedicated hard drive. It can not be used for anything else and must strictly be used for the system. As long as you are okay with that, I would say go for the cheaper Skylanders bundle. Nintendoland is a lot of fun and really highlights what the system can do and trading in skylanders for another game is a great gameplan.

With the WindWaker HD bundle, you do get a unique GamePad with Hylian letters bordering it, so that may also be a deciding factor on what you want to get, not to mention that the game is a blast to play (even more so if you have never experienced Wind Waker before).

just out of curiousity, if you buy disc-based games on disc, what do you need a larger than 32gb (or 8gb) HD for? Can you play audio/video content from it? Is there a lot of interesting download-only WiiUware that eats up space (or any planned?)? have no idea what's worthwhile on the WiiU eshop.

If you buy your games on-disc your memory will most likely be spent on patches. I feel anything over 32gb is overkill. This won't be your digital games powerhouse; especially since there's not a traditional account system in place.

There really isn't all that much on the eshop. Virtual Console games and retail titles make up most of the selection. There are some unique games like NES Remix but you're not gonna get a lot of indie offerings and such; certainly nowhere near the amount found on PSN/Live/Steam et cetera.

Other than streaming services, I don't know about any audio-video playing functions. Maybe another member can chime in.

I'm just worried about games in the future that might come with install discs. I'm not sure if there already are or if there are any planned.

Anyone know if Ghosts has an install disc on Wii U??

Ended up buying the WindWaker HD bundle. What can I say? Im a sucker for limited editions and Zelda.. :D Also, I picked up CoD Ghosts and Pac-Man and The Ghostly Adventures which is a very good game. I had never heard of it until I found it for $20 new in Gamestop. I am overall happy with my purchase so far! Thanks for your opinions guys.

That was a wise choice. The resale value of that system will be much higher in the future.
