And yet it's been horribly under-utilized. If I was even going to consider buying a Wii-U (which I'm not) the gamepad wouldn't factor into my decision at all, simply because it's not being put to effective or interesting use yet.

I agree and that is a huge problem that the system faces, people are not utilizing the gamepad in awesome ways...at least not in most game's cases. Sure there are games like ZombiU and Rayman Legends that really put the gamepad to the test in cool and unique ways, but even the mario games don't utilize the pad in interesting ways besides blowing it (hehe) to reveal secret blocks.

It is a shame, but the fact still remains, the gamepad is the only thing that makes the WiiU a different system than the PS4 and Xbone...it sure isn't the graphics.

No, the games are what make the Wii U stand out.

If people dont take that deal for $200, they may as well just never buy a Wii U.

The same could be said about the PS4 and X1 right now

According to the gamefaqs top 10 for PS4 and X1, Thief/Batman:AC/Titanfall are #1, which all 3 are also on PC...

And... if i wanted to play those games, my PC can more than handle them with ease.

You're absolutely right - Thief and Titanfall are even being released for the PS3/360. Gee, I sure am bummed out about not spending +500 to play all these next-gen, exclusive games!

I wrapped up Tropical Freeze tonight and I'm actually not sure what to think. Although the levels are larger, overall this game still felt shorter than Returns? The environment variety didn't seem as diverse either. Although, major plus and props to the water world since Returns lacked anything and everything to do with water.

I loved it and did play both back to back within the last couple of weeks though, so maybe it's just all blending in and jumping into Tropical Freeze right after Returns made it easier than it would have been otherwise. Overall it was harder towards the end there, but right when it was ramping up it felt like it abruptly came to an end.

That said I kind of raced through Returns, but with this one I want to go back and take my time exploring the levels more and finding all the puzzle pieces and stuff. I also missed several of the secret paths and extra levels, so that's something to look forward to.

Didn't Retro develop this one pretty quickly? Maybe that says something.

Tropical Freeze? It was first announced at E3 almost a year ago, which means they were working on it for some time before that. And it was delayed a few months from it's original release date.
