Bwuh? Really? Then why didn't Virtua Fighter 3 come out on the Saturn. I read that Fighters Megamix was kind of an "Oh, we don't have enough time to get this game out on the Saturn. Sorry! Here's Bean the Dynamite!". Someone, somewhere on the internet lied to me, and I will have my vengeance.GagaMan wrote:Um, it wasn't. It came out in early '97, the last Saturn releases in the US were about mid '98. The game is very fan-servicey though. =)Original_Name wrote:Fighters Megamix was one of the last games released here in the US for the Saturn; it was a replacement for Virtua Fighter 3, which never came out on the Saturn due to lack of support from the American market and Bernie Stolar's braindead marketing. It featured the full rosters from both Virtua Fighter 2 and Fighting Vipers with move rosters and more 3-dimensional gameplay, which was fan service enough. They took the fan service several steps further with the inclusion of Virtua Fighter Kids characters, Janet from Virtua Cop 2, Bark the Bear and Bean the Dynamite from Sonic the Fighters, Rent-A-Hero, and most awesome of all, the Hornet Car from Daytona USA (the car grabs onto its opponent with one wheel, and burns rubber with the other on one special attack).
I bought it in '98, anyway. I remember it quite clearly, actually. There I was thinking: I love Virtua Fighter 2. I love Fighting Vipers. Sega is the greatest company ever.
