When I play my Sabbath records my friends are all "Whaaaaaa? This is Black Sabbath?". Dudes made some excellent rock n' roll. If it weren't for my parents giving me their collection, so many records I would have never listened to.

Shizz's bout to get heavy:

Rank'em! (my list of b-boy albums)

Paul's Boutique
Hello Nasty
Check Your Head
Hot Sauce Committee Part 2
Licensed to Ill
Ill Communication
To the 5ive Boroughs
Some ol Bulls#!t

I didn't think I'd rate Hello Nasty so highly, but that album is so solid from start to finish, and the club bangers really drop the beat.

*note, Awesome I F***king Shot That pretty much trumps every b-boy record.

Some Old BS

...y'know what's weird though? Even w/ the albums I rated lowest, I really really like those albums! Such a great band.

I don't give an F. Just keeping it real. This isn't a ranking of "how good" the albums are, but of how much I personally enjoy them. And to me, this ranking has a lot to do w/ nostalgia. Check Your Head was the first B-Boys album I got into, so it reigns supreme. And while Paul's & Licensed both got play from me after that (along w/ Some Ol BS), it was when Ill Communication came out (and the Alio Y Olio EP) that made me say "y'know what? This is one of my favorite bands now."

And now I'm bummed out that I don't remember whatever happened to my Grand Royal Ill Communications ringer-Tee. Man I wore that thing so often it became super comfy soft. It was my Golden Boy.

Some skunkfoot stole my Super Awesome "Get Off My Dick" B-boy poster, and if I ever find out who stole it, he'll be swimming with the fishes.

i can't rank beastie albums very well because i like them all so much. but i WILL rank sabbath records:

Sabotage
Master of Reality
Paranoid
Black Sabbath
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Vol. 4
Heaven & Hell
Mob Rules
Born Again
Dehumanizer
Technical Ecstasy
Never Say Die
Headless Cross
The Eternal Idol
13
Tyr
Cross Purposes
Forbidden
Seventh Star

and, really, depending on my mood that list might change. but i think the Dio-era stuff is fantastic and JUST as good as the "classic" ozzy stuff, the Tony Martin-era is criminally underrated, and i really wish they had done more with Ian Gillan, because Born Again fucking rules even though it's plagued by poor production.

Like Luke and Noise (probably others), Beastie Boys hold a special place musically for me. They were the band that got me into music in the first place. So, ranking their work from best to worst (if such a thing exists with them is hard). But, like Noise, I will rank them in the order I enjoy them in.

The Sounds of Science*
Ill Communication / Check Your Head
License to Ill
Hello Nasty
Paul's Boutique
To The 5 Burroughs
Hot Sauce Committee
Some old Bullshit

*Since this is a greatest hits type with most of their various styles represented, I tend to listen to this one a lot.

I said earlier that I like Same Ol BS. I like Aglio Y Olio even more actually - which was a hardcore EP from the Ill Comm sessions. At any rate, like I said - even the album I'd rank the lowest is awesome.

Nope. Only listened to it to "get chicks". Sounds poser-ish, but it is what it was.

Not only do I hate the song let her go, I hate how the passengers ripped off a perfectly great song.

Real deal:
