Re: Anybody Into Collecting Knives?
I basically started carrying a knife because I kept finding situations where I thought it would be convenient. I've certainly needed it more than any other pocket tool except the miniature pliers.
The one I'm using now came from a garage sale and I don't really know the make or model, but its blade is several inches long, partially serrated, and probably made of aluminum alloy. Locking mechanism is a fairly sturdy spine lock. It opens simply and easily easily - just stick your thumb into a hole in the blade. The handle is plastic and feels a bit flimsy but I've never had any problems with it. The larger blade and one-handed open make it a real improvement over the multitool I used to carry around.

I carry my grandfather's knife. He carried it for 15 years before he passed and used it every day. I got it and now I carry it every day. I believe it is a Uncle Henry or something like that.

Why have I never seen this thread?
My carry knife is a toss up between an Italian Stiletto and a Boker Matic (a one handed assisted close).
Most of my knifes came from garage sales and my late father (though he usually bought them at flea markets, garage sales, and army surplus. So I have a lot of pocket knives and bayonets. Closest thing I have to fantasy knives are a couple of the throwing knifes I have. My brother gave me his old mall bought sword. That thing was garbage but hilarious. Don't know what happened to that
. Bet my mom threw it away.
In the kitchen, my wife used to work at Sur La Table so she is super opinionated when it comes to knifes. We have a nice wet stone (70/80's Japanese) but she won't let me sharpen them myself. I'm an eagle scout, come on. We don't have any good steak knives (just crummy chefmate set). But we do have a Wustof chef knife and a couple santoku we registered for our wedding.
Really want a m1917 bayonet for my Winchester 1897.

I don't have a knife but I used to have one of those hair combs that look like a switch blade. Suave!

Me too. Loved combing my hair for no reason to freak people out in middle school. Made no sense because generally never comb my hair.Nyukki wrote:I don't have a knife but I used to have one of those hair combs that look like a switch blade. Suave!

I have an old Vietnam Era Bayonette. I keep it nice and sharp.
Re: Anybody Into Collecting Knives?
Got a few bayonets around. My brother collects pocket knives so I usually just give him any that I happen to find at a good deal. Never really cared for carrying a knife used to have a nice multitool that I carried around but I have no clue where it went too
.
Anyways here are two of my bayonets the rest are buried in my closet in a large trunk of Military Items I have collected
.
Arisaka Type 99 with Bayonet that my Grandfather brought back from the war and an M1 Garand Bayonet I got as a gift last Christmas.

I like Leatherman multitools a lot. I keep one in my glove box, one on my bicycle, one in my toolbox, and a mini multitool on my keychain,Fragems wrote:multitool

I keep a cheap one in the car amd a massive one that I have around the house. That one is all matte black so it doesn't slip out of my hand when I use the pliers for example unlike the old school ones my dad had.samsonlonghair wrote:I like Leatherman multitools a lot.
