Batman: Arkham Knight from Rocksteady (XB1, PS4, "PC")
Re: Batman: Arkham Knight from Rocksteady (XB1, PS4, PC)
The trailer doesn't do much for me. I just wonder how much of an impact the Batmobile will have towards the gameplay and if Rocksteady found any inspiration in the new batmobile themed arcade game that recently hit the market.

And the other current gen system is left out. Seems this will be the case when they stop doing cross-gen releases.

We've known this for quite a while.casterofdreams wrote:And the other current gen system is left out. Seems this will be the case when they stop doing cross-gen releases.

Anyway, I'm mildly interested in this when I do get a PS4. I skipped Origins and may well never play it now that this is coming. The batmobile aspect isn't appealing to me at all frankly, but I'm sure the rest of the game will be really good.

Thank you Rocksteady for being one of the few companies that hasn't sold out:
"[Batman: Arkham Knight] is a single-player game. There is no multiplayer," director Sefton Hill explained to Game Informer (via Video Gamer).
"Right at the start this was our vision. It's going to take all of our effort for all of this time. We don't have the time to do multiplayer."
He continued: "We want to focus on making the best single-player experience we can.
"We don't feel that it needs a multiplayer element. Warner Bros. backed that up right at the start."

As is alluded to by the developer, multiplayer is usually pushed by the publisher to help with sales. My guess is, that Warner is only ok with it, because Rocksteady has earned the ability to push back on that.

Given their name, they should be making a TMNT game.ninjainspandex wrote:I wish that Rocksteady would make a Spiderman game, but I guess thats Marvel. I need a good modern Spiderman so badly

That would be amazing...but if they did that, I would insist on (local) multiplayer.Stark wrote:Given their name, they should be making a TMNT game.ninjainspandex wrote:I wish that Rocksteady would make a Spiderman game, but I guess thats Marvel. I need a good modern Spiderman so badly

I actually know a coworker that bought The Last of Us and only played the multiplayer. He's a straight up real-life version of that casual gamer you always hear about (only buys COD, Madden, and NHL every year), but wow. Even that stunned me about LOU. I haven't played the game myself but I still can't believe it.
