Don't know this band, seems like a shame though, I listened to "Used to Be a Cop" and I liked it. Any recommendations for first album purchase?

Southern Rock Opera or The Dirty South. After that, perhaps Decoration Day or Brighter than Creation's Dark. There's really not a bad album in the lot, and they've been a top 10 band for me for over a decade now. Great stuff.

The new Beck album is dreamy. It's like a sequel to Sea Change.

Also, I think Mellow Gold just turned 20 recently.

MILT JACKSON, and more Milt Jackson.

Seeing that it is Fat Tuesday (my friends seem oblivious to the fact today is a holiday) a lot of big bad will be played today. Party music all around.

Have a listen:

I miss the every-album-is-a-new-style Beck.

The new one is ok, but it doesn't hold a candle to Sea Change and I am having difficulty getting into it. :(
