I have the game pre-loaded and ready to go on Steam.
It comes out during my second day at back Uni, this could get dicey.
So Thief 4 anybody?

That was great, thanks Pulsar!Pulsar_t wrote:

Don't mention it. Now for the new game, seems to be getting mediocre reviews. Still, with mod support it might become more interesting later on.

Re: So Thief 4 anybody?
All the reviews are lame. I could give a poop anyways, but a lot of them are just slamming the story/plot... which, did they forget how awful the plot was in Deadly Shadows? That one is arguably far weaker than the first two, and the plot gets hilariously bad towards the final stretch, but it was still Thief and rocked outside of its horrible engine (the real issue!)
I dunno, I guess the reviews aren't phasing me since I wasn't going into this for plot at all. And a lot of people ragging it for feeling claustrophobic... just makes it sound even better to me.
Still pretty hyped.

Re: So Thief 4 anybody?
Well, my attempts to play the game last night ended in tragedy. My PC, which I built six years ago and have only upgraded a few times, is unable to run Thief without choking to death. I'm almost positive it's my processor (2.2 Ghz Intel Dual Core), since I noticed that my CPU usage was maxed out while playing. So, I decided to use this tragedy as an justification opportunity to build a new rig. Given that I use my computer for work, I've had my current PC since 2008, and my birthday is this Saturday, I figured that it was time. I was hoping to get some opinions on my build, which I ordered not long ago. Check it out HERE. I'm thinking that I should be good to run it on max settings with this new rig.

New pc looks good! I have the same PSU but I think 750 is overkill for that gpu.Wispmage wrote:Well, my attempts to play the game last night ended in tragedy. New Thief looks fun to me. Can't afford it right now and might be rid of my gaming PC in the future so I'm not certain I'd buy it anyway.
Older. Not wiser.
Re: So Thief 4 anybody?
I agree, I would also scale back as much as you can in other areas to improve the gpu. Get a cheaper mouse no need to drop that kind of money on one, etc.flex wood wrote:New pc looks good! If you downed those two you would have been able to get a 270X which utterly smashes the 250ti in every way.
As for the game, I have not been able to play it. I have the 19.4gb preload downloaded, however the final 200mb wont download, doing my head in!

Better to have an overkill PSU; then you don't have to worry about it later.
