anyone help me decide???

I need an opinion. I have a psone with the lcd screen, i currently own about 80 or so games from the resident evil series to both castlevania's to guilty gear. My problem is lately the only place I could get are good games that I love which is the 2d fighting genre and the 2d shooters is on ebay. The prices are insanely high!!!! You thought ff7 was high in price, try looking up x-men vs street fighter or marvel vs capcom!!! I want to ask anybody if its even worth keeping since its an old system and since in today's market where i could get a xbox system in which I had one before that was modded and yes thanks to racketboy about his article on the 2d fighters for that system, I collected every one but when my system died i sold everything and now I'm starting to think if I should sell my psone to get another xbox or just keep what I have and hope i find more gems like I found at the flea markets. Please help before I make a mistake!!!!!!

Tough call, it all depends on what your priorities are. If I had 80+ games for the PS1 I would have a hard time selling them. I rank the PS1 up there with the NES in terms of importance to the gaming industry.

However if all you want is to play a bunch of games that you like, and you are no longer getting enjoyment from your PS1 collection you could get some decent money for it, and could then use it towards another system and/or games.

I have found that as I got older I regretted selling my older systems and games so that I could "upgrade" to a new system, and I am now in the process of rebuying some favs.

If I were you, I'd look into modding the PS1. The price of those games are not so much for the games themselves, but for the collectors value. If you arn't intrested in collecting, only playing, then a ModChip would be the best way to go about playing those games.
