Definitely isn't the textures as the discs have worked fine before. I hooked it up to my new TV, it worked fine, I turned it off, next time I fired it up the problem occurred.
Is there a way of checking for the overheating issue? They're not so much glitches as just odd colours, the games run fine apart from the colours being wrong. Thanks for your responses.

Any photos?

Ok, I tried it with a store-bought game and the colours are fine. Any thoughts as to why it won't run burned games properly, when it had done previously for months?
Re: Dreamcast problem - games on my TV in the wrong colours
I have no idea. Try re-burning the games? Try them at a slower speed and see what happens.

I reburnt a game at the slowest speed possibly in DiscJuggler, verified it, tried it, same colour problem

Hmmm. Time to get a new DC?

I guess so
they're cheap as hell anyway. If I buy a replacement and have the same problem there may be tears.

Re: Dreamcast problem - games on my TV in the wrong colours
Sorry to bring up this old problem, but I just tried an entirely different Dreamcast on my TV and had the same problem. Can anyone suggest why this may be?
I don't understand it - as before the main Dreamcast menus etc show up fine with the correct colours, but again, games burnt to CD-R show up with weird yellow/green/blue tints and are a lot darker.
Anyone have any further suggestions? Thanks
Edit: I found a stash of burnt games that work fine, on crappy unbranded CDRs. Could it be the burning method? I've been using the latest Discjuggler, and everything I've burnt with it hasn't worked properly... hmm. I tried burning Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 (ECHELON release), and some random .cdi of Napple Tale, both have the colour problem. Are there certain settings I should use in Discjuggler? I tried burning with BootDreams but my DC tried to play it as an audio CD..

Here are the settings that I use for DiscJuggler (I've never had any problems):
Mode 2
Offset 0 Bytes
Block 2352
CD-DA
RAW Write
Add post-gap to 3rd party images
Burn Speed: Slower 10X
Those are the only settings that I adjust and it all works fine. Give them a try and hopefully it'll help you out.

Re: Dreamcast problem - games on my TV in the wrong colours
Nothing wrong with the discs. Bad data will result in the system hanging. Usually there is some crc error correction in place to prevent this from occuring. Since the bios is displaying just fine, and the problem is only with the color. And by color I assume the whole screen shows the wrong colors, I think we can conclude that the dreamcast is outputting colors in the wrong color format. i.e. its probably a PAL/NTSC problem. Try both a PAL and NTSC version of a game and see which one works fine. which type of cable are you using? It might be that your tv is forced to either PAL or NTSC instead of automatically detecting and selecting the right color system. It could also explain why your bios screen shows up fine and not your games if the bios is for example a PAL bios and all your games are NTSC.
