Then went to a disc exchange around the corner and couldn't pass on this deal. It's something ice wanted for a while. Only question is what does the toggle do?? I know it's a mod, so when I get home I'm gonna crack it open and see what it looks like inside. Hopefully someone has some ideas.

Imported saturn, cords and 2 controllers - 55.00
Most likely a region switch. Nice get. :)

Usually region switched a 3 pole or 2 double pole aren't they?

My guess is 50/60hz switch.

Funny story... I ended spending 3 hours at the disc exchange store because my damn car broke down. We were an hour and a half away from home with our 20 month old daughter. Finally home and laughing about the memorable stories tonight created.

But in the 3 hours of waiting for a tow truck I talked with the store manager at length and our thoughts on the switch were that it was a power amp/watt/strength changer for region. Or what ever you call a switch for the differences in jap and NTSC power. Don't have the engery to crack it open and get a closer look. I'll probably throw some pics up on the mods board tomorrow some time to see what the experts have to say. Looking forward to learning something new

Considering it's American controllers with a Japanese system, and if you're in the States, there's a good chance it's a region switch. Two switches would make me think a 50/60hz switch was added to it, but I could be wrong. All it'd take is a hz switch with a PAR cart to be all set. I'm sure that narrowed it down a bit.

Does anyone know the story on this wheel? The Nintendo seal of quality and the fact that is licensed is what turned my head. I usually see these types of 3rd party accessories in more generic boxes, if any.
I have the PS2 and Dreamcast versions of the V3. Really like it for the extendable column and the angle settings for car or straight up for big rig mode. That Nintendo seal has little meaning, there are also Sony "licensed" products for 3rd party controllers.

Will be going to a couple different Bookoffs tomorrow that I have not visited for a while.

Hmmm... Just noticed the bottom of the saturn had a security sticker from a buy-rite video games with a 919 area code. It says "warranty protection void if removed" and it looks like at one time three screw holes were covered. Wonder if the mod was done by that store as a service back in the day? Kind of a cool piece of information about the systems history.

Making more progress on my PS3 exclusives collection, I'm not sure if I'm paying too much or not, but it's pretty easy to walk out of gamestop with 3 or 4 games for $20 now that they are trying to move on to next gen consoles.

Little Big Planet $9.99
(only qualm with this is I got the greatest hits disc)

SOCOM 4: US Navy Seals $4.99

SOCOM US Navy Seals Confrontation $1.99

MAG $5.28
(after shipping)

While MAG should arrive sometime this week (ebay), and once I've collected all the games on the PS3 exclusive list, then I'll worry about getting non-greatest hits discs and having all the manuals right.

EDIT: Forgot to mention I downloaded and finished The Last of Us: Left Behind DLC. All I can say there is that I just stared at my PS3 during all of the credits, just flowing with emotions.
