Pretty good family-friendly dramedy.

Plot (pasted from Wikipedia):
Life can be tough for a man (Rishi Kapoor) who teaches at a school for a living, lives in a DDA flat in Lajpat Nagar, Delhi and is coping with the double digit inflation rates and single digit increments in his salary. Add to that, A teenage daughter, a fast-track son and a wife (Neetu Kapoor) who loves the good life. The life of the Duggals is passing by in simply taking care of the basics. Until one day, they decide to dream. Their ticket to dreaming comes in the form of a wedding invitation. An innocent little wedding invitation. What follows is a journey of chaos, realizations, calculations, confrontations and bonding. This crazy Duggals will fight it out at home (and the neighborhood) for what they think is a ‘good buy’ for the family! This family bonds in the most unexpected and hilarious situations. And just when they think they are sorted out, comes one big, lurking temptation. Much like the apple in the Garden of Eden. And then, begins another journey that will drive them, and you, pretty much nuts.

If they made Uno The Movie, it would do badly also. It's not even a new thing, when they made Clue the movie, it also performed badly.
May have performed badly, but Clue the movie is FREAKING AWESOME. Just saying.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!

Sorry, but no it isn't. It reaches to be philosophical and fails miserably. Put down the bong, pick up a book. FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF is infinitely more philosophical.

Speaking of, FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF. Watching that movie is like going home, it is.

(btw, that was sampled on the Gravediggaz' first album. Haha)

How are you defining "philosophical" in this argument?

The study of knowledge based on one's reality. How do you define philosophy?

You've described something closer to empiricism or epistemology. I'd define philosophy as the search for and study of fundamental truths about (and the relationships between) reality, knowledge, and existence.

I know in games the publisher does. In movies I can't tell whats the difference between producer and a director, I believe the studio is like videogame studios, it is the place that worked on the movie and the distributor is the one that puts the movie out to cinema and dvds but who is the investor?
You have answered your own question. The people who pay for the movie to be made are called...the investors.

Here's a rundown:
Film making is an inherently collaborative process. There are dozens (or scores) of people who are responsible for making a film, and there is a recognized chain of command. The best boy reports to the key grip; the key grip reports to the cinematographer; the cinematographer (a.k.a. the director of photography or DP) reports to the director. The director partners with the producer.

The producer and the director must respect each other and work together for the film to be a success. The director is in charge of the creative half of film making; the producer is in charge of the business half of film making. While the director is ultimately responsible for every instant of the film itself, the producer is responsible for the profitability of that film.

The producer must make all the business deals including securing investors. Producers almost never* finance the movie themselves. They convince investors to put up money to make the film in return for a share of the profit. Producers are also responsible for marketing and promoting the film and associated merchandise including t-shirts, lunch boxes, posters et cetera.

*Edit: By the way, it's worth mentioning that one way the producer convinces an investor to put up money is by appealing to the investor's vanity with a "producer credit". In the closing credits of the film the people who invested money in the film are sometimes also listed as producers. These investors had very little to do with film making, but now they can walk around Hollywood impressing folks by calling themselves "producers" when in fact they are merely investors.

You assume fundamental truths exist.

Of course it is a bit silly to wax philosophically about FERRIS BUELLER, but it's even sillier to think The Matrix is some deep story with onion like layers.

Some serious shit goes down in Buller. Cameron is dead, deal with it. Ferris plays out a perfect day in his mind, and only in his mind as to cope with the loss of his best friend. The entire story is a manic dream he's concocted as that is the only way he can deal with such a tragic loss.

John Hughes is one sadistic sob, and it shows in his movies.
