Mahir kisses you?

... okay I may have dated myself with that comment. ANYWAY, as to actual random gaming thoughts, I had a great night playing fighting games with some friends but MAN I have to organize my stuff again. 9 months ago, I started a major renovation of my upper level (Cape Cod house), basically gutting it. Almost all of my systems were up there, so they (along with everything else) got moved downstairs, mostly into the basement, and into storage. The systems got boxed up mostly into individual plastic bins (except for the handful that were extra-big and didn't fit the bins I found), usually with their controllers, and in most cases with their AV cables (for the ones I have that still use proprietary cables, many of my systems use generic S-video/RCA jacks). What DIDN'T make their way into the bins in a lot of cases? Power cords. Must have taken me a half hour of digging through boxes to find the damn AES power. Made exceptionally annoying because I don't have a first party, SNK power adapter for the AES. Fortunately when I saw it I recognized it, it IS a unique look. And for those of you going "Why not use a Genesis adapter, they work on frikkin everything!", I have one of the older AES serials that requires 5v.

I really need to organize... everything. My whole damn house. And for the video game stuff, I'm gonna need a lot of velcro cable ties and a label maker.

Edit: Also, we spent like an hour or so playing Fatal Fury Special (I really only have 1, 2, and Special for fighters on my AES, I need to expand)... and then we switched to modern and went Tekken Tag Tournament 2. WOW I had forgotten what a difference there is and just how badly I **SUCK** at 2d fighters. No sidestepping, no running (at least back in that era), no juggle combos (again, in that era)... basically, all the stuff I'm good at with 3d fighters is gone! Out of the 3 of us playing, 1 mopped the floor in Fatal Fury, but then when we switched it was MUCH more even.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread

So Magic Knight Rayearth was the last Saturn games released in the US, in November 30, 1998.

The Dreamcast came out in September 1999.

So does that mean there were 10 months with no games released for Sega consoles?! I feel like I'm missing something here.

That is a sad reality. Yes.

For Sega consoles, yes. There was a 10 month gap in the US, For Sega games in general, it was a 6 month gap, from Yoot Tower on PC in March '99 to the DC launch titles in September. In Japan there was no gap; in fact there were Saturn games that came out after the DC launch.

Must have been a sad time to be into Sega. I wasn't back then.

The Dreamcast must have felt like a resurrection and then....................
