Do you remember this mission on Goldeneye N64???

Post by Kevinj »

Does anyone remember playing a mission on the stack with both basement and library??? My brother and I both clearly remember playing this level many times when we first rented the game. There were guards all over it and objectives.

If anyone has any info about it let me know and I'll see how it compares to what I remember in the mission. I am not talking about the archives.

I've been scanning through ebay every day for any GE cart that is different looking that may hold this level and no luck.

Also it's strange how the manual says, try to find these villains when only 2 of the 4 are in a mission.

Thanks.

For some reason I feel like this might be real too. But maybe it's just you and I mixing memories up with the crazy development history a lot of N64 games had with so many screenshots and such that were never in-game, haha... who knows?

What are you asking for? Are you saying that you remember playing a Goldeneye mission in 1997, but upon looking for it on the cart now it doesn't exist?

You're talking about the Archives, or the multiplayer version of it. If I recall right, Archives had a large chunk of the level that you didn't ever need to explore if you knew where all the objectives were.

I played it when we first rented it before it was released I think, anyway we both remember playing this mission on the stack and now I can't find any info about it and I searched about this years ago and no luck then. People say the nfr version is the same but I don't own one to find out other wise I played a beta cart somehow.

The archives is completely different then the stack and I played it as a mission when we rented it. There was no bookshelves in the stack mission. If only I could talk the the GE team that made the game.

If you had a Gameshark you could open up the rest of the Archives level in multi-player. That's where the books and basement thing are.

But yeah, not sure what you're asking really.

::EDIT:: ^ I skimmed this.

This. A Gameshark code allows you to walk through doors (noclip) and explore the rest of the level. You can even drop outside of windows and combat each other outside in a narrow alley.

Sound about right?

And as for Oddjob and Mayday, you'll never see them outside of multiplayer. I believed the myth for years!

There's not really a basement in the archives, just a bottom floor. The stack has an actual basement that's dark and gloomy. What I'm asking is if anyone remembers what I'm talking about to prove this and get more info on it. The archives has so many differences over the stack that they can not be mistaken for one another. I don't want to go in full detail of the mission because I want to hear what others say about it to know if they're telling the truth.
