one thing no one has mentioned about cfw, is that there is a ton of homebrew available out there for free download. cfw is almost exactly like the regular firmware, and with the newer updates you have been able to update along with the official firmware updates (its a little more complicated, but in the end really easy to figure out).. the hard part is getting the original cfw installed. seeing as you said you have the 3000 series, i would wait it out until they have the thing completely and safely cracked.
when it is the time, and you do decide to go toward cfw, an easy way to get it is to pay someone 15-20 off of craigslist to do it for you. just be careful about who you deal with on craigslist, if you sense a scam dont go near it. also dont ask for any roms or isos, because that would be illegal.

Re: soo...what to get for the psp?
thanks for the advice but i dont feel i can trust anyone online to do that. im just really cautious..and who wouldnt be for a system that costs this much. i would hope that once it the cfw is good enought for the 3000 that maybe i do it with a good guide. i might have a friend or two that might know how to do it also. well ill see when the time comes. for now although i still havent figured out what game Besides MH:F2 to get but so far im leaning twords crisis core due to my love for ff7 (i know i fall in the "i love ff7" group with so many others....im sorry about that. well its not my favorite though)superlarz wrote:one thing no one has mentioned about cfw, is that there is a ton of homebrew available out there for free download. cfw is almost exactly like the regular firmware, and with the newer updates you have been able to update along with the official firmware updates (its a little more complicated, but in the end really easy to figure out).. the hard part is getting the original cfw installed. seeing as you said you have the 3000 series, i would wait it out until they have the thing completely and safely cracked.

It's not out in usa, but it is in europe, so it's still playable in english if you obtain that version (If you haven't played the original, try to play this one, it is a phenomenal game)weasels wrote: yah i think breath of fire 3 is out in japan on the psp. im pretty sure its not in the us. but dont quote me, as i have had a psp for only a few days.

Re: soo...what to get for the psp?
I got a copy of Crisis Core just recently. I got a deal on it and Chains of Olympus on Black Friday and they arrived yesterday. I played Crisis Core for a couple minutes. I'm not ready to commit to it just yet, but I just wanted to see what it was like. I was impressed. You can tell it's a Square title. Graphics and production value are fantastic, with an amazing pre-game intro sequence and some awesome looking CGI cutscenes once you start playing. It actually reminded quite a bit of Advent Children from a visual standpoint.weasels wrote:for now although i still havent figured out what game Besides MH:F2 to get but so far im leaning twords crisis core due to my love for ff7 (i know i fall in the "i love ff7" group with so many others....im sorry about that. well its not my favorite though)
The sound is amazing. Not only was the music great(with a rocking track for the first boss fight), but it was also LOUD. In just a few minutes of playing you'll already see Sephiroth, which is cool. The combat system seems easy to use. You've got your typical Final Fantasy commands but things seem to move in real time with you moving around the battlefield like Kingdom Hearts. You only get to use one character though. The way the game starts is reminiscent of Final Fantasy 7, with you getting thrust into action right from the get go.
If nothing else, definitely a technical showpiece game for the PSP. It looked and sounded fantastic.

if there is one game you import you absoloutely MUST import DJ Max Portable 2
IT IS THE MOST INSANELY FUN RHYTHM GAME EVER!!!
although its hard to find info on it because it was developed in south korea so unless you can read korean/japanese good luck... If you arent for rhythm games then maybe this isn't for you because it is quite intense!

Re: soo...what to get for the psp?
I played a little Grand Theft Auto:Liberty City Stories yesterday(yes, I'm doing a lot of PSP gaming of late). It's EXACTLY like the GTA games on the PS2. The whole city is ripped right out of Grand Theft Auto 3. It's incredible. The PSP really is a portable PS2.
Oh, and I got the Serenity movie on UMD for only ten bucks. It's looks and sounds great and even has a few extras, plus the proper aspect ratio. I love this little all in one machine that is the PSP. It deserves more success than it's gotten.
