The last couple haven't sold well. Not well enough to make them a large priority at least.
It doesn't sell well is a weak argument especially when there is a huge out cry for a new one. The Wii U and Gamecube are selling/sold in pretty low numbers so games not selling well on those platforms is not something to guage a game's popularity off since even a small percent of the low install base is a substantial one. Although NOBODY bought Mario 3d land but the most hardcore Nintendo fan.
What? A lot of people bought Mario 3D Land, it was basically the go to game if you had a 3DS. It currently has over 8 million units sold. Far more than the F Zero franchise combined.

I don't think it's Nintendo is Kiddie that's the problem, Nintendo makes a very specific flavor of game that's something the whole family can enjoy. I really think Nintendo's main problem is ignoring what it's fans want. They screamed for Region Free Consoles, they laughed at us. For 10 years fans demanded Mother 3 and Iwata and Friends covered their ears and went LALALALALALALALALALALALALALA. Nintendo's attitude towards it's fans is You will shovel our shit eat and it an LOVE IT. And I've said it before, Bayonetta 2 isn't enough to get me to buy a Wii U. Showing you care about your fans and what they want when so many other companies either don't care or just have no clue coughsegacoughcapcomcough what it's fan base wants would be a big plus.
Nintendo pumps out a ton of games a year (your statement about them not making new and old IPs is very far off). The obvious reason why there isn't a new F Zero is because they feel like making other stuff instead.

Every video game company has a few franchises that they don't visit for a long time. Nintendo feels that they have other stuff to do other than out sourcing F-Zero. Doesn't seem that crazy to me.

That was a fun review of Zelda A Link Between Worlds Nintendo in general. I know better than to make a huge statement about how Nintendo is going down the dumper and the Wii U is a failure, instead, I'll just wait and see what happens. One system probably won't force an entire company out of hardware, it took 2 failed consoles to do that to Sega.

Define the two, and "failed consoles." I don't think you're considering them in proper context.

I have a club Nintendo membership and once a month I go online and try to use my points to get a free download. They are putting out Mario rpg(snes) and punch out(nes). I'd figure i would get punch out and i bought the game and used 200 coins. After i quickly bought it i found out it only was for wiiu and not the wii but the last time i did that it worked and i got the download. So I called Nintendo and told them what happened.
They got all my info and put me on hold for a few minutes. The rep said sorry it was only for wii u and not the wii. I said ok well i don't own the wii u so can i get my points back? He told me absolutely not. I asked him that i made the mistake and i asked again and told him that i don't want to lose my points and i don't have a wii u. He replied no you should of looked better. Then i asked him well can you give me the code to punch out for the wii? He actually got a little mad and told me look we cant just give you games for your mistakes no way were not giving you free games.
Now if the rep was nice about it and not being such a dick then fine i messed up but I have to say the customer service was total shit to me. How can you say we cant do anything for you? I'm a manager in a large retail store if that was the case we would gave the customer a refund or the actual game he needed.
My point of the story was that I also think and I've heard many times that Nintendo doesn't care for the customer anymore. It's all about money. A lot of cases its true but damn man if it wasn't for us you guys would be out of business or working for sega lol. I feel with my experience with Nintendo now there no longer care for the customer anymore and that is also going to hurt them. If anyone who has a wii u I will be more than happy to give them the code to get punch out for free. Just pm me on that.

Because it doesn't say "Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream (Wii U)" in big bold letters at the top? What about the blue banner on the right that says "Nintendo eShop Wii U Downloads"? You don't see the Wii U pad on the left that announces the system there too?

Try getting a refund/switch of any kind from XBLA or PSN and see if you get similar results.

It's apples to oranges anyway, Sega has always been as muich an arcade company as a console one. So you had the decline of their console market share and sales coupled with the death of the arcade business as well, the late 90's were probably the biggest shift in gaming since the advent of the Atari 2600. And again, the Saturn was failed in the US, spanked the N64 and rivaled the PSX in Japan, it was their schizophrenic three headed monster management style (with the US, Japan and Europe) that couldn't agree on a common strategy nor forsee the death of aracdes in time. Then you add in the fact that they abandoned the handheld market after the GameGear whereas Nintendo can fall back on that, and it's just not worth comparing. I'm the biggest Sega fanboy going, but Nintendo is in no way as screwed up as Sega was during the Bernie Stolar years.

All very good points, and essentially what I was getting at in that as much as people are wont to draw parallels between Sega's exit from the console space, and the potential of Nintendo's, they are very separate, and distinct circumstances from each other. Also that there's far more at work in both scenarios than most are aware of.

Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast. BAM! And I'm talking about sales figures here, not critical reception or my own opinion. Not saying they didn't sale millions, I am saying they still didn't keep up with the competition. Didn't they drop Dreamcast in America because of the PS2's ability to play DvD's, making it more likely to sell or something? And wasn't Dreamcast made to help boost sales in North America? You know, because the 32x and Saturn didn't sell well over here?

I'm no expert. :P

Now this is just desperate. They're obviously trying to market to kids through Reddit/9gag style "le may-mays."
