I always thought that the people behind artwork or franchises are too uptight about using their materials. Does it really matter if I sell shirts with the face Mario on them? I understand why its going to be trouble with Disney characters because Disney makes direct profit from selling merchandise based on their characters. But how much does Nintendo make off shirts or keychains? What about tattoos ?

Then again, if I was the one who came up with an idea I would like to receive some kind of pay-back to any work I do , but it should be something acceptable. I went to GettyImages , and the licensing for using 1 picture was horrible. It was something like this:
1) 8 options to using 1 picture : TV, Movie, website, print...etc
2) How long will be the magazine in print, or TV show be on?
3) How many viewers/readers of work will there be?
4) What size of the picture will you use
5) what countries will you issue your work in?

After I tried to see how much will it cost, I ended up with something like $160 to use 1 image inside a newspaper that has a circulation of 100k. This is too complex and too expensive for just 1 picture.

It should be more like this:

Newspapers/Magazine/Books: $10 , any size, any number of prints, any where.

Quite a bit actually. Mario tshirts, and more specifically Pokemon tshirts, are still big sellers. We are talking multi hundreds of thousands a year.

Then you would have very few professionals providing images. A friend of mine makes stockimages for a living. He will create up to 50 new stock images a month, and might, MIGHT, license two a month. He averages about 50k a year doing this. Now I know this is not a proper example, he did shoot for Time and Natgeo at one point, so his work is cherry. But if you could license his images for $10 he might make 1k a year.

I think it goes more like the cheaper the license (and easier regulations) the more you will sell. No one will buy virtual-consoles games for $30 , but many many more will pay $5 for them. So he can sell two license per month for $300 each, or 200 license at $10 . Then again , it depends on the picture. If he wants a couple of hundreds for pictures of Miami's beaches then he is dreaming because there are thousands of them and his are almost valueless, but if he has pictures of Lindsay Lohan in an embarrassing situation I guess those can reach hundreds of thousands per license .

I really don't want my stitches redone, you don't understand, it hurts like hell. It hurts so much that it paralyses your body.

Back on water I guess. Fuck sake. I've lost 8 kilograms in weight already.
Keep it as clean as possible. Has it started bleeding again?
Hoping your mouf gets better man.

I can listen to music while studying but television or talk radio/podcasts gets too distracting.

Today I learned famous Youtubers make unbelievable amount of money, as I heard Yogscast make something like $4m a year or 333k a month for playing games online as it seems. Other female Youtubers rake in high amounts of money just by showing you how to apply make up.

I always thought those Google ads pay peanuts, and really popular channels like Boogie2988 would probably end up with a sum no more than $10-15k a month ( 200k a year) . It seems that they make about $2 for each 1000 viewer, so a million views will make you $2000 , but that is if you are unknown, if you are well know like Vsauce you get paid even more than that ($3-$4 per 1000 views)

Now I know why those YouTubers work so hard on their vidoes. With stuff like Vsauce where I know a lot of research gets done before they make a video I justify what they get paid, but with people just showing you how to play Minecraft or apply makeup... all I can say is that this shows that life gives back to those who play their cards right not the hardest workers.

I highly recommend you read up on the life of a stock image artist. Also the differences between something like stock images (which would be the Miami Beaches you mentioned), and photojournalism or paparazzi (which would be like the Lindsay Lohan image). They are supremely different worlds. Stock images do not typically have a famous individual in it in any way.

In the world you suggested most of the good photographers will be snapped up by companies (like how Time and Natgeo worked up until about 2005), and the lionshare of stock images will be worse than it is now. For example, look at the difference between standard stock images vs royalty free images.

So one of my emails got hacked into again... I am not sure if Microsoft did something wrong from their side but I just don't know how this keeps happening. Not only do I keep different password for each one of my accounts on EVERY WEBSITE OR SERVICE , I use complex passwords generated by 1password of 16 characters that not even I know them.

I spent another 45min updating my other emails passwords and updating 1password. God, this is so frustrating. How do hackers/crackers keep doing this?
