It really depends on who's behind the counter. Some won't bat an eye and others will refuse and quote company policy.

As a copier tech, I usually just ran personal things as "test prints" there to make sure print quality was good enough. One for the few perks of having to service a Fedex Office account.

I have the exact same stick and I too swapped out the buttons and stick for better parts

I was looking into custom art etc. but it looked too messy and awkward (I'm also terrible at arts and crafts). Having seen what the metal plate looks like without the original sticker, I was thinking of spraying the metal a complimentary colour, or perhaps just plain black to match the sides of the case.

It would also look a lot cleaner and simple I think, maybe that's an option for you too noise?
