This is wrong on so many levels. But the EU fares even worse! What is wrong with people?
I don't really see how this is surprising, despite what some might lead you to think the majority of people are ignorant about these like this, that aren't necessarily affecting their life so they don't care. If you start asking the majority of people about science, I imagine you'd get a lot of pitiful answers.

20% of American High School Graduates cannot read their own diploma.

20%.

Nearly 60% of UNC student athletes read below a second grade level.

This isn't shocking.

I don't believe these statistics, you don't even need to go to school to learn this stuff, if you don't know it , you know some one who does and will correct you. You can even watch a movie and learn about this.

As for ignorant Americans I don't blame them, when I visited the states everything around me kind of made me feel like I am living in a closed box. I was very surprised to see the headlines about Lindsay Lohan going to jail in news channels, this kind of news might not make it to the last page of a newspaper in some other parts of the world

That's because LiLo is more important than everyone in most pathetic countries, combined.

Your "President"? < LiLo

Putin < LiLo

No one gives a wag about your people because they're worthless to Americans, even the "ignorant" Americans.

On Saturday I went to a game convention and purchased a print of some excellent Samus fan art, then hung it up in my room as a poster.

The first person who saw it asked where it came from. I told her, and she got very angry at me because it was unlicensed and I was starving the character designer.

When I explained that Nintendo sells games and not artwork, that I was buying Metroid games, and that good fanart can be free advertising, she called me a shameless thief.

Uh?

I'm not even sure what I would say to that. I buy unlicensed game t-shirts all the time when they aren't officially available. I'm basically a walking billboard for games.

Tell her "The man who created this concept is dead and cannot profit off of it. But why are you trying to keep a struggling artist from attempting favorite styles for practice or being able to profit off of their own productions? Do you simply hate art?"

After that, regardless of what they say, just repeat "You hate art" ad nauseum.

I preordered Season 2 of Dragonball Z on blu ray. It was supposed to be released on 2/18, but was apparently delayed to 3/4.

Amazon never updated to reflect that delay though, and they have shipped something to me, which should be arriving tomorrow.

All the info I can find on the release still says 3/4. Makes me wonder what's gonna be in that package when it comes in.

I was going to buy those Blu-Ray sets myself until I found out they're cropped... few things bug me more than fake HD. The DBZ Kai sets are in the correct aspect ratio so I'll be sticking with those.

Yeah, I'm not happy about that either.

Unfortunately, Funimation doesn't seem to be interested in changing their minds about that. The original blu ray releases (the "Level" sets) were in the correct aspect ratio, but they canned that line after a season and a half.

Getting DBZ cropped is the only affordable way to own the series at this point. The old orange bricks are cropped too (with less care taken), so they're out for sure, and the only other option is the Dragon Boxes, which are great but cost an arm and a leg.

I want the show, so I've kinda just thrown my hands up about the whole thing. :|
