After a long session of playing illustrious titles such as Munch Man, Parsec, and Video Games 1, my TI-99/4A joystick decided to bite the dust.
Well, sort of. I can still fire and go up, right, and left - but I can't go down.
There are two screws on the bottom of the stick so I can certainly open it up.
Any idea what to look for? What to do?
If this were an Atari stick I would simply pick up a new one. But Texas Instrument sticks are hard to find in the wild and eBay prices are poopy.

I'm pretty sure that joystick is just going to be on/off switches like most from the era. So maybe some dirt in the contacts that shifted.

IIRC the TI-99/4A sticks have a flex circuit inside so they're fairly difficult to fix. I'd much rather just dump them and get an adapter so you can use Atari-compatible sticks.

What are these Atari adapters....?
Re: Busted TI-99/4A joystick - Help......?
A few companies made Y-adapters so you can use Atari sticks on the TI, as it only has a single joystick port and it's incompatible with Atari sticks. Here's a page that details how you can make your own: http://www.mainbyte.com/ti99/hardware/c ... stick.htmlBoneSnapDeez wrote:What are these Atari adapters....?
