Ok -- what are your thoughts on the current selection.
Seems like there's this one
And the Neo-Geo one
Seems like the Neo-Geo stick is hard to find, but I'm still curious about how they stack up.
Seems like the Wii is becoming a decent platform for fighters, so I'd like to keep this in mind...

Re: Wii Arcade Sticks
If I get time over my holidays, I'll be making myself one from a hacked classic controller.
Getting ready for TvC to hit!

Is it? what fighters do you recommend? I have Guilty Gear and thats pretty cool, I've never played any of the GG series before and I like the selection of nut jobs you get play as.racketboy wrote:Ok -- what are your thoughts on the current selection.

Other than that there is Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, but I wouldn't bet money that this will make it to european shores.
There is another a stick I saw in a magazine this month, although its early and I cant remember who is making it. I'll try and remember to look it up for you.
I've got my eye on the hori stick - its very cool looking and I dont currently have an american style stick. Hopefully the buttons are quieter that than the hori stick I have for the saturn though, they make a terrible racket.
Re: Wii Arcade Sticks
Well you have the King of Fighters pack that just came out.
Then you have the Samurai Showdown compilation (including 6) that comes out in February (?)
You also have Capcom vs SNK 2 on the Gamecube.
It's not in the league of the Dreamcast or anything, but it's not bad.

Re: Wii Arcade Sticks
The Hori Fighting stick is pretty good. It's as good as any of the non-Real Arcade Pro sticks. Which is to say, it's as good as any stick that Hori makes under $100.

I have not. I have really aggressive spam filters. I'll add your domain as 'safe', and you can try again - or just send me a PM as well.racketboy wrote:Cool -- I've added it to my Christmas wishlish

Re: Wii Arcade Sticks
For all the SNK fighters that you can get on Wii the Neogeo stick is probably pretty great, I'm guessing it's pretty much the same as the ps2 one. But then you'd be stuck with a funky layout for any other games. I'd get one of the hori sticks, and maybe mod it with some arcade parts.

Looks like us gamers in the Uk are going to miss out some great games again
I guess if you count the VC releases then yes there are a fair few fighters out there, and of you include the 3D fighters then there are a few more also.

Re: Wii Arcade Sticks
I picked up two of the hori sticks a month ago – frys had them on sale
for $25ish. I love the design and am partial to the color scheme. I
bought them with the idea of playing Street Fighter Alpha 2 and Killer
Instinct on the homebrew channel – but have yet to install the
homebrew channel, and the huge array of shumps that are on the
console. Thus far I have really only used them for Dr Mario and
Castle of Shikigami 3. They work very well but I don't think they are
worth the $50-100 they usually go for, unless you are going to replace
parts. The buttons are of good quality, but the stick is soso (shaft
likes to rotate on one of mine).
The only two downsides I can think of are:
1. Emulates Classic Controller Dpad – meaning only games that use the
dpad for control can be used with it. So most N64 games on the
Virtual Console are out and so is NiGHTS...
2. Uses Wiimote as interface. Sure this means its wireless, but it
also means that they cant be used for Gamecube games. Which means to
play Gamecube games with a stick you still have to hunt down the Soul
Calibur 2 stick – on the flipside, if anyone has one of those sticks
for sale drop me a line.
As soon as I get Capcom v Tatsunoko Ill let you now how that goes.
But for now courage.
