So I have been thinking about this topic on and off for awhile. What are the "true" exclusive games for the Dreamcast. Meaning, games that were not enhanced ports (Dino Crisis, Soul Reaver, etc.) and games that did not get ported over to other consoles after the Dreamcast "died" (Code Veronica, Jet Grind Radio).
See, I didn't have a Dreamcast when it first came out, so when I started collecting, that was one of the first consoles I got and started finding games for. While I was collecting, I found out that some of the games were ported over to PS2, Xbox, or Gamecube. I knew that Jet Grind Radio, and Code Veronica had ports, but I was not aware that Ecco the Dolphin made it over to PS2 eventually. So it made me ask, "what were the true exclusives you cannot get anywhere else besides Dreamcast?"
A few off the top of my head are:
Toy Commander
Shenmue
Zombie's Revenge
You all have any others?
True Dreamcast Exclusives

Illbleed and E.G.G, are a couple more to add.

Re: True Dreamcast Exclusives
Do you still consider the game exclusive if it was originally an arcade game, or if it had an iOS port?
For example, Border Down is exclusive to the DC, aside its release in the arcades. Fast Striker was released on the MVS, Dreamcast, and iOS.

I was wondering the same about PC. I mean, Omikron is exclusive to Dreamcast if you're talking strictly consoles. But it also was on PC.dunpeal2064 wrote:Do you still consider the game exclusive if it was originally an arcade game, or if it had an iOS port?

It's not a very large list and seems to be shrinking every day, which is (sadly) why I've been compelled to move away from it.
Here's the current Wikipedia list:

Re: True Dreamcast Exclusives
Dux, Dux 1.5, and ReDux are only on the DC right? I don't recall seeing NG releases for those.
There are a few more shmups we could add to that list, depending on the criteria
Is Street Fighter III: Double Impact really only available on DC? That is surprising.

Re: True Dreamcast Exclusives
Yes it is. And considering both titles were superseded by 3rd Strike, its likely to stay that way for VERY LONG time.dunpeal2064 wrote: Is Street Fighter III: Double Impact really only available on DC? That is surprising.
@Omerta: the list isn't very large because its grossly incomplete
I dont see Mars Matrix, Zero Gunner, CvS, Confidential Mission, etc, etc.
And Evolution game s were ported to GCN, were they not?

Re: True Dreamcast Exclusives
Mars Matrix, Giga Wing, Giga Wing 2, Zero Gunner 2 Border Down, etc are all arcade games though.
Wasn't sure how "exclusive" we were looking to get.

Well fuck! Now I'm confused because this supposed list provided by Omerta already has some arcade ports on the list like Double Impact, Zombie Revenge, Cosmic Smash, for exampledunpeal2064 wrote:Mars Matrix, Giga Wing, Giga Wing 2, Zero Gunner 2 Border Down, etc are all arcade games though.
