If I have kids I plan to use this as their lullaby.

+1 for you; I still hear the bell as well.

You must remember though - it is important for those w/o kids to tell those w/kids how raise their children without imaginitation. It must end.

Next one of these guys is gonna tell me my Leprechaun trap in March is pointless.

I setup a kill box for Krampus every year. Though that just involves sitting infront of the front door with a shotgun and a bottle of whiskey for Christmas Eve. One year I almost got him.

I feel sorry for your kids if the only way you can inspire their imagination is by tricking them into believing what's not real. I feel lucky to have had a family where such nonsense wasn't necessary. I for one never needed Santa or the Easter Bunny to have a great imagination, and I thank my parents for that.

Any reason to celebrate with your children is a good enough reason for me.
I agree to not ruin a child's imagination and innocence and not having santa or the easter bunny in the first place will not do so. I love playing games and creating fun and engaging activities with kids that encourage imagination. When I was young, my brothers and I used to take Muscle Men (now known as ultimate muscle) figures and create a unique rpg game with a Skip-Bo card random event combat system. I was only 5 at the time.

If people still do the Santa thing, that's fine. I'm not going to belittle them for doing that and I don't think they are wrong in doing so. That's cool! For me, I just want to encourage imagination and wonder in a different way.

Maybe they could teach you how to do the job, or perhaps you'd like to quit making passive aggressive insinuations. (Oh, and yes, Mike, that is the proper usage for passive aggressive.)

I was going to send Ack a private message, but since it would probably be posted to the board anyway, I might as well just post it here.

As if I was the only one who softened his tone on second thought. But by all means, I'm not particularly ashamed of it, not after a moderator's passive aggressive and insulting behavior to all parents and all people who don't teach their children to believe in Santa. Heaven forbid some of us be different. I guess those Jewish kids lead unimaginative lives. Those Hindus must be inferior to magical Mike's wonderland.

But hey, we all know that mj gets a free pass. After all, if anyone dares criticize any moderators, all that happens is a sickening display of self-congratulation. Pat yourselves on the back, some user is unhappy with the abuse of privilege by certain moderators!

I don't honestly see anything wrong with Santa Claus or the Easter bunny, but then again I've been told enough times to quit talking to my imaginary friend God and grow up to know that it doesn't matter what I think, nor what other people tell their children.

Why is it that Trebek has such a dissenting tone to contestants when they get certain questions wrong? Normally he doesn't do it, but every once in a while he does and it just comes off horribly dickish.

Fuck not telling kids about Santa or Easter bunny, I wonder what conservative Americans think of stop telling their kids about the "stork".

Honestly my mother told me I even made fun of that when I was 4.
