You need to watch the episode Reality Bites from Fresh Prince.

+1, no Easter Bunny / Santa / Cupid / New Year Baby / Leprechauns

Also, make sure they know, "actually, it isn't going to be ok", "Yes, grandpas death was incredibly long and painful", and "In truth, i'm sorry, my friend Bernie here is actually dead."

EDIT: Does the text really have to be blue?

Just tell them when they wake up every day:
"Morning, little buggers! You know, you're gonna die at some point."

I say don't take away a child's innocence and rather allow them to enjoy the world of imagination. Kids shouldn't grow up with their parents constantly telling them "It's all bullshit".

Any reason to celebrate with your children is a good enough reason for me.

Oh come on, forget the rest of that crap, no one should have Weekend at Bernie's ruined for them.

This is correct. The window in which a child genuinely believes in Santa, the Easter Bunny, etc. is very brief and very beautiful. There is no need to ruin it.

This is also correct. If someone ruined Weekend at Bernie's for my children, I would punch him right in the face.

He's referring to Weekend At Bernie's 2, which is okay to spoil.

Why can't one still believe in Santa regardless of who put the presents under the tree? I believe in Santa. He's still real to me, dammit.
