Either of them will be better than these Silverstone fans. Absolute trash. Loud, lots of CFM (except at low RPM, then just loud and bad). Also built out of twigs and gum.

I was looking at them. I also heard good things about Enermax's stuff and they're a bit cheaper and quieter for the ones I was looking for, at the cost of 20cfm.

Took forever, but got it back up and running! Also tried to do some proper cable management and it worked out pretty well! The sound insulation eats up some of the room you already were tight on. Took some muscle to get all the pins on the side panel latched and closed. It's not bulging though or anything so it's fine I think.
Sorry about the blurry-cam pic.

Well it looks like I am going to have to buy a monitor instead of running my pc through my tv. After the last AMD driver update I get random audio clicks/pops and my video just drops for a couple of seconds and has been driving me crazy. I was able to turn of the speakers so I'm just using my headset but the video drops are bugging the hell out of me. I'm connected with an HDMI and have been googling for solutions but have had no luck. The video only drops when I'm on the desktop but not in game so I'm not in that big of a hurry.
I think I'm probably going to go with this

I'm also thinking about doing an almost complete rebuild now and going with the windowed corsair 350d. Basically I'd be selling my case, cpu, mobo and cpu cooler for sure, maybe my power supply too but I'm not sure yet, and going with an i7 4770k, corsair h100i, and most likely an asrock extreme4 matx mobo.

Is that the standard go to case thesedays? Haha, that's the one I used last year. Looks similar to mine except that's way better cable management there for sure.

Re: PC build thread
so as yard sale season approaches, I've been thinking about picking up a USB 3.5" drive in case I find any old DOS games or something. There's lots of options out there, but I don't wanna pick up something cheaply made that's gonna crap out quickly. Anybody got any suggestions for a specifically well built model?
Re: PC build thread
So I'm looking at pulling the trigger on a monitor this weekend. I'm probably going to get that Asus that I linked above but I'm curious about what happens with a refresh rate of 144 when my gpu is only pumping out say 70fps. Do I still get screen tearing or what? I don't really understand what happens and all the information I've been able to find seems to be conflicting.
Re: PC build thread
Screen tearing happens when your computer is trying to output faster than the display refreshes. So you'll be fine.flex wood wrote:So I'm looking at pulling the trigger on a monitor this weekend.
