i'm a digital control junkie, and the saturn seems to handle that much more smoothly than the PS2 version. also, it seems a LOT harder to get larger sized loops on the PS2. Time to fire up the saturn!
(off topic; it is unbelievably hard for me to fire up my saturn and not put in Radiant Silvergun)

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.
Consoles: I have too much stuff
Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.

Anyway, it's answered, as long as you have a way to boot imports you shouldn't have any problem.noiseredux wrote:I didnt say it was NTSC, I said I thought it was PAL. So that's why I was asking.
okay, well that at least clears up the import deal for me. So even if I can't find a cheap copy of Nights in time for TR, at least I'll know for the future.

I will say that I really enjoy NiGHTs even though I am terrible at it. It is just a good way to clear my mind. It flows so smoothly and is beautiful. I just wish there was a way to play it portably, be it by emulation on a netbook or a port. Granted you do need to concentrate on it. Christmas NiGHTS here I come.

Re: Together Retro: NiGHTS into Dreams / Christmas NiGHTS
This will be my first participation in together retro. I will be playing the PS2 verion which I've already completed will all A ranks. I'm by no means a scoring wizard but instead my play through will focus on the gameplay improvements made possible through the technology update.
During my first play through I learned that the 3D play as the kids is far better on PS2. This is due to the extended draw distance. Exploring levels, collecting, and comboing a high score before "dualizing" becomes far more fun and interesting now that you can see! Stick Canyon is a fun level to start on so in a day or two I'll report back.

Well.. I have been wanting to jump in to together retro for a bit and this one is going to line up. I have been sitting on a saturn modchip for a while... So I bought a Saturn and a NiGHTS/3D controller package. I modded the saturn and am using the mod for Christmas NiGHTS. I started a couple days early but have been enjoying this title quite a bit so far.
Re: Together Retro: NiGHTS into Dreams / Christmas NiGHTS
I really only have the attention span for Christmas Nights. I've always wanted to open all the presents so I'll work on it.
On a side note, I've always read that you couldn't rip the music off Nights, I've always assumed the same was true with Christmast Nights. Well, tonight I ripped a fair amount of music off my Christmas Nights disc. I also ripped a lot of music off Mr. Bones discs and I'd swear I had tried that before and couldn't find ripable files there. Anyway, it looks like I'll have a lot more music to add to my PSP.

Ow! My small intestine!
