I don't think it's okay to devalue the dog's life because it's a dog. Not gonna convince me otherwise, especially with some weak argument about fish and bugs.

Not trying to convince you or whatever, you can believe what you want to believe, but it's a bit hypocritical to say it's ok to kill fish but not dogs without giving a reason. What's the difference for you? What about cats? Cows? Horses? Ducks? Swine?

Honestly, I think it would be kind of awesome to eat every kind of (non-poisonous) animal at least once. I mean, I'd let endangered ones off the hook, but everything ELSE. And I'm not saying I'd shovel live centipedes into my mouth... I'd want things PREPARED into something like a MEAL.

A bug and a fish hardly have consciousness about them beyond survival instincts, not really the same. And if the internet is in an uproar about this, I'm obviously not alone on it.

I really don't see how you can argue that a dog is equal to a person in importance. A cow can be just as friendly and loving as a dog, yet we eat them all the time. Hell, everyone should eat only vegetable matter and mushrooms, because they can't feel or think. And we should get rid of anything at all that has ever hurt or caused harm to animals, so a lot of important medicines and such. I could keep going, but really, its a hard argument to make to me.

IMO, it is also OK to eat pigs because they wouldn't hesitate to eat you, and it is OK to eat cows because - seriously - they are just asking for it. (Chickens are the same way. If we don't eat them and their eggs something else will.) It is also perfectly acceptable to eat geese because they are dirty, aggressive birds that sh*t on everything. Ducks are cute, but they are covered in a thick layer of delicious fat; so, it is OK to eat them too. Conversely, lobsters and crabs don't really look right unless they've been cooked; so, we should eat them. Finally, it is fun to catch fish, but we shouldn't just leave them on the shore to die once we have caught them. (That would be cruel and wasteful.) Accordingly, it is best to eat them too.

EDIT: Horses are too fast to eat; dogs are too cool to eat; and there is no reason to eat a cat (unless you are starving). I hope that answers everyone's questions.

Honestly the only animal I find disturbing to eat are monkeys, gorillas ect., cause they are too close to human. As I said the image of the cooked dogs was disturbing to my eyes, but at the same time I wouldn't judge anyone for wanting to eat one. As long as it's not someone else's dog ofc .

And that they get decent treatment before being put down of course. But that goes for all animals. We're going to kill them to eat them, they at least deserve a decent life and a quick and as possible painless death.


Now Burningdoom if you think dogs are equal to humans, I hope you are just being overly emotional because you really love dogs. Don't tell me you were as sad when your dog died as when a family member or a friend did.
