Fixing a DSi shoulder button? (weird method)

My right shoulder button for my DSi messed up. You have to press it hard to get a response. So I did a little research and came across this:



Some people said it actually worked. I am not the type to take repairing tips from a 5 year old, but it actually worked (for now).

Can using this method actually damage the DSi?

I am not sure how it makes it work, but I am just guessing that it blows dust and debris that was blocking the button?

Yeah that's usually what causes the button to either become hard to respond or to not respond at all. The spring under the shoulder button can come off-center as well, which can cause a button to not respond. Last, but not least, the shoulder button can just stop working all together because it is worn out (which is what happened to my original DS). I played a TON of Mario Kart DS thought so I was using the R button on a daily basis mostly the entire time I was playing lol.

lol same here. I think that is where my R Button took abuse from (Mario Kart). Too much drifting lmao.
