As most of my friends would say, "I know, right?".
I always played as the second player so my special was the hail of machine gun fire. So cool.
SOR2 seems like it tried to be more Final Fight-ish, but what they didn't get was that sor > final fight in the first place. And I love Final Fight on the snes, but sor is a better fighter.

They also removed Adam and added.....Skate.....omg.
Yes I agree. I understand why Final Fight is more important sine it came out first, but when I play it today, even the arcade version, it's kind of meh. Now if we are talking about Cadilacs and Dinosaurs, yeah that game is in the top

The music from Streets of Rage still gives me goosebumps, and I'm not being flippant. When I hear that first bass line beat I know I'm in for almost a full hour of Sega greatness.
You're talking about the title theme, right? That's one of the best pieces of video game music ever.
Yuzo Koshiro's soundtracks are insanely good. He also did Ys Book I & II and ActRaiser, among others.
I actually like Streets of Rage 2 the best. It feels much more smooth and fluid compared to the first game. I don't like part 3 at all, the 6-button control scheme just doesn't work for me.
Yuzo did SoR3 as well, right? I recall reading that he actually invented the technique of making a computer program to randomly output music, in order to make something that even he himself would have never thought of.
Not sure if he actually created the process or not, but the music in SoR3 is really unlike anything else. Very underrated soundtrack imo.

Damn straight.
Have you ever listened to the SOR soundtrack in your car? Well I have, and I can say it makes you feel like a Boss. The music gets me amped up like crazy, sort of like a good linkin park. Makes me feel like I can take on the world it does, no joke.

You are not the only one good sir! I find that soundtrack to be one of the best soundtracks of all time, which is saying a lot because I feel that the Sega Genesis sound chip is just......meh.

And yeah totally with Luke on SoR always being better than Final Fight.
Gecko Yamori is quite the boss too, what'd you guys think of his work on SoRRemake? This was one of my favorites. Would fit right in there in stage 4 with the tunnels/ninja.
I want a new beat em' up in the Killer Instinct (Xbone) engine.
1/12: Kirby's Adventure (NES)
1/20: Injustice: Gods Among US (WiiU)
1/25: Super Mario 3D World (WiiU)
1/29: Metroid Fusion (GBA)
1/30: Metroid II: The Return of Samus (GB) 2/8: Metroid Zero Mission (GBA)
I think maybe I'm going to keep this Metroid marathon going. Metroid Zero Mission is, without a doubt, one of the greatest games ever made. This might be Nintendo RD-1 at their finest.
While I've always enjoyed this game for its incredible pacing, masterfully created setting, and great difficulty curve, what really struck me this time was how subtle but significant the plot in this game is. In the later canon Metroid games, it's striking how obsessed the Space Pirates are with Samus, going so far as to ruining their own species to get the power to kill her.
Metroid Zero Mission really does a wonderful job of explaining the dynamic between Samus and the Space Pirates. At the beginning of the game, she is as she was when the Space Pirates wiped out her family: vulnerable and scared. You the player begin to feel really, really powerful as you gain abilities in game. When the fight with Ridley happens, it's almost anti-climatic as you've so many missiles and super missiles that he goes down like a chump.
But then....spoilers for anyone who hasn't played this masterpiece...the zero suit portion of the game. Samus is hurt, defenseless, and desperate. The Space Pirates hunt you down and it really made me feel the stress. Dodging Space Pirates in every room had me holding my breath. When Samus gets her suit back with full upgrades, it's like the tables are turned and Nintendo RD-1 really did a masterful job depicting that. It's exhilarating watching the Space Pirates flee from a fully powered Samus. I burst out laughing when I noticed one of them hiding in a corner where I'd been hiding myself just minutes before. He died a coward's death.
So yeah, the plot of all the Metroid games really makes sense because of Zero Mission. Zero Mission gives the Space Pirates their reason to hate Samus and it shows just how much of a deathwish Samus has (and why) until she meets the Baby Metroid.
tl;dr: Metroid Zero Mission is fantastic and I miss Nintendo RD-1
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Yeah, that's Yuzo. ActRaiser 2 and Beyond Oasis are also in that experimental style. I find the the soundtracks for those games a little off putting at times.

Not sure if this counts, but i beat R&CF:ToD again, this time on challenge mode.
It was totally awesome on New Game+ mode the 2nd time, got to use all my weapons/devices and newer armor.
Lets not forget the Omega RYNO 4-Ever for the low price of 50,000,000 bolts, which i swiftly upgraded to Version X! and just ran through the worlds plastering enemies into the wall! http://ratchet.wikia.com/wiki/Omega_RYNO_4-Ever
If every R&C game is this fun, i cant wait to start up A Crack in Time.
Crack in Time is the weakest entry in my opinion, but I seem to be in a very small minority with that opinion. To me, Crack in Time is Ratchet and Clank trying to not be Ratchet and Clank
