What type of oil to add after removing rust from a surface ?

hi guys , in the below video Luke talks about ' oil ' to add so the rust doesnt come back.............what type of oil ? cause id like to buy some

IDK if I would put oil on it. If I was concerned about it rusting again, after sanding it, I would spray it with Rust-Oleum.

hi Zig , thanks for the tip im going to do some google searches to see if i can find that product locally cause im in Australia.

If you don't have Rust-Oleum in Australia, then go to any Hardware type store and look for a similar spray paint.

I haven't been receiving email notifications from RB either. It was happening for a month or two, then there was about a week or two in early January that I was getting them, then it stopped again.

i did a google search and we do have Rust-Oleum down here Bunnings stocks it

I haven't been receiving email notifications from RB either. It was happening for a month or two, then there was about a week or two in early January that I was getting them, then it stopped again.

i thought i was the only one , hopefully in the future its fixed

If you get the rust off and get it very clean and dry, might just be able to shoot some clear on there too.

I would think any type of oil would prevent rust, since water wicks right off.

Then again, I'm the guy who used cooking oil on his Xbox so pay me no mind.

You don't want mystery oils near electronics though. Some could eat plastic or rubber or at the very least foul the connections of buttons and switches.

I already told you Hobie, that Xbox has been going strong for years. Vegetable oil is magical.
