Smile: Pokebank is out in NA! Now I can transfer all my mons to X&Y and work on finishing my Dex.
Frown: Holy shit, what an awful interface. Let me describe how I have to go through transferring.
1. Move all Pokémon into Box 1 in Pokémon Black (because the transporter can only read from that box). Since they didn't implement multiselect until Black 2 this is a slow and time-consuming process.
2. Launch transporter and send Box 1 to the Bank
3. Launch Bank, switch to my Pokémon Y game cart (as you need a game cart in to use Bank)
4. Transfer all Pokémon out of my transfer box and into either a Bank box or a game box
5. Repeat from step 1, switching back to the Black game cart
Why there needs to be a Transfer box (when you can't send stuff back, so just toss it into the first open box), why it can't read from other boxes in Black, why it took them so long to even put multi select in games, why why why?
I mean, I want there to be an auto sort feature for my boxes (it'd be nice to sort by Dex number), but I can understand it not being a priority. The other stuff is just terrible design.

Smile: Got hired on an 8 month contract with a financial company here in town. It's not much but should be long enough for me to make a splash and apply for another position internally this fall.
Frown: Just as I call my fiancee to let her know, she let's me know that a company has protested the awarding of the contract she works for. So she drove all the way into work this morning just to be told by the military that she and all of her co-workers are furloughed until further notice. That means no pay and since she's not fired or laid off, no unemployment.
One step forward, two steps back. I feel like we're playing a crappy board game. Like candy land or Sonic Shuffle.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Congrats to you and sorry to her, Flake. Any chance she can easily move to a different project or to a differenct company relatively quickly?Flake wrote:Smile: Got hired on an 8 month contract with a financial company here in town. We're exploring that. Because she technically has worked for the new company for exactly 3 days, we're not really sure what her standing is. Fortunately, she's the smart one in this relationship (aside from settling for me) and just finished up her MS in clinical psychology and is a database and research expert so she's actually pretty marketable. She was just waiting on me to get my career change taken care of before shopping around. This might move her time table up a bit.Ack wrote: Congrats to you and sorry to her, Flake. that's how I felt today. Happy i had today off and my ebay package came in the mail. Donald duck and mtv skateboarding for the dreamcast. Games are so scratched up the I see through the games. Dreamcasy won't even try to load the games up. I mailed the guy and hope even though it said as is he should of said scratched badly or needs to be resurfaced or something so I wouldn't waste my money. I already threw this in another post but that's what ticked me off today.
At least as a buyer you have a little more protection though you should be able to get things worked out through eBay if he isn't willing to help you.

I heard about that. ICYW, I subscribed to Gothamist, and I follow them on Facebook.o.pwuaioc wrote: Today's a bum day. Deep puddles of snowy water, wet clothes, train delays, and the flu. Could be worse though. I could have been under this.
Saw this on the way home.
3, 2, 1 CAKE!!
1 box angel food cake mix
1 box cake mix, any flavor
Mix two cake mixes together, and store in large ziplock bag.
These individual little cakes are amazing and ready to eat in one minute!
They are perfect for whenever you feel like a treat without all the fat and calories that cake can have.
This recipe is called 3, 2, 1 Cake because all you need to remember is:
3 tablespoons mix,
2 tablespoons water,
1 minute in the microwave!
...some microwaves vary... so 45 sec to 1 minute and it is done

Smile: Today's news sounds more like something from one of those commercials in Robocop.
George Zimmerman and rapper DMX have signed on for a celebrity boxing match. You read that right.

It'll get stopped. Has to. I mean, people aren't just mad at the guy - many folks think he's a racist murderer (perhaps quite rightfully so). If he doesn't get killed walking into the ring, or in the ring, someone will, maybe an innocent, will get killed with all the tension surrounding this. It'll get cut off at some point, likely very early on.Luke wrote: George Zimmerman and rapper DMX have signed on for a celebrity boxing match. You read that right.
